In the early days of Kirunia there were many quarrels and disagreements between the different Gods. They only had one thing in common, all of them considered himself or herself to be the most powerful of all Gods. Everybody knows that a God is immortal, and therefore they could not fight each other to find out who is the strongest.

So, the Gods decided to create a Chess Game where their individual ranking would be decided each year. All of the Gods had similar resources and they all constructed an intelligent race to represent them in the Chess Game. When they were all finished it looked like this:

God of Air - Humans
God of Heat - Azracs
God of Cold - Frostlings
God of Water - Lizards
God of Life - Elves
God of Earth - Dwarves
Godess of the Day - Halflings
God of Light - Highmen
Godess of Dark - Dark elves
God of the Night - Goblins
God of Fire - Orcs
God of Death - Undead

Then they created an artificial World that they called The Divine Chess Board. Once a year each God chooses a Champion to fight for him or her and thereby decide the ranking of that particular God for a whole year. The winning God will have most influence over the happenings in Kirunia during this year. The Champion that gets killed first will have made their God the least influential this year.

This year you have been chosen to represent one of the Gods in this battle. You have been promised eternal life in the Hall of Heroes if you win, and you figured that saying no to a God would probably not be a wise move. Determined to destroy the others you start gathering your forces and begin your campaign.

This is the turn logs for the WL game between Dan Petersson and Sleet.

Lizards day 1

A frostie hero joined our cause, emptying our gold reserves. Had to kill or dominate the units in the surroundings instead of purchasing them.

I have received turn 3 again. Unfortunately I oversaved my previous game save in EmailIn. Perhaps you have the email for turn 4, or I will have to replay turn 3 and resend it? (Email sent too.)

Today we found out that the dwarves were made of flesh and bone. They have all been properly buried on lizard soil, and their blood will feed lots of new lizard hatchlings.

Humans.

We explore the realms around and fight with some. Highmen seem VERY powerful, while above us there lurks many of the evil kind...

(Will post more often, sorry I have not so far.)

We meet more enemies and are troubled by the magnitue of their armies.

The 1/2lings and the Frostlings both fall before the Human armies.

Elsewhere battles continue into new lands.

Due to the events on the night of day 4 we feel that we will have a really hard time winning this game of Chess. Air galleys have been sighted, and two human controlled heroes at the steering wheel. The next few days will tell the outcome of this war.

I may have made a risky move today. The goblins might just kill our last hero. If that happens it will be game over for the lizards.

Lizards day 15

Today we have seen the future. The future shows that the God of Air will have much to say about the comings and goings in the land of Kirunia this year. We are doomed, and now we have even been invaded by the undead.

The beginning of our end was when our main hero was lost on day 4. Without the benefit of dominating in a lot of other heroes and units we knew we would lose in the end. At least we got the pleasure of killing the last of the goblins.

Waiting for the humans to finish us off.

Humans.

We cut deep into the lizard world.. we wondered where your leader was.

Yes the domination skill is quite beneficial... had some early troubles with orcs, but after that smooth sailing.

Btw, fun map, lots of interesting strategies can be used and formed on this one!

Cheers,

Sleet

Only two lizard units remain and we expect the humans to finish them off tomorrow. All hope is lost!

Well played Sleet and congratulations to your splendid victory. The winner gets to report the result to the Ladder.

edit: Oh, and by the way, glad you liked the map. If you have the time, I would be happy if you would rate it in the Day of Judgement thread in the Competitions and Tournaments Forum.
