Highmen Day 1. Rushing forth, blah blah blah, grabbing resources, blah blah blah, taking what's rightfully hours.... etc.

Not very happy with our starting spell (one I've never used).

Day 2
We continue to explore our small land, buying or fighting as appropriate. Not had the best of beginnings. Our fighting definitely didn't go as well as it should have done.

Highmen Day 2.

Progressing according to plan. Explored a crypt and unfortunately lost a spirit puppet, but gained some xp and some nice items. And the beancounters are happy too.

Elves Day 3
Nothing much of import happened. We lost no units, but gained no property.

Highmen Day 3

Same here. Day 3's are really boring.

Day 4
Moving out, exploring ruins, not dying ... yet.

Highmen Day 4

Moving out too. No action, though.

Elves Day 4
Still nothing to report. Everything going to plan so far.

Elves Day 6
(Well we never said we could count )

Explored a ruin and becoming stronger.

Highmen Days 5 and 6

Attacked by indies over both the last two nights. First time we lost a good unit. Second time, the two human guardians of the shipyard we were parked next to joined in the fight and one got killed. So it made it all the easier for us to kill the other one! No action apart from that, boringly.

Elves Day 7
No action today, just movement.

Highmen Day 7

A long journey looks like it was worth it - important action this day goes well.

Elves Day 8
Defeated a few indies and took their towns.

Highmen Day 8

Some spiders give us a setback in a pitched battle, but fail to press their advantage, and ultimately pay the price. Which includes us taking their posessions.

No sign of evil incusions in the homeland yet - any day now!

Elves Day 9

Searched for and found some treasure. Evil ones are visible on both sides.

Highmen Day 10

Planning to take some risks! Not much else.

The elves discovered some new words that were alien to them before when they reached their goal only to find that someone had beaten them to it.

Highmen Day 11

Yes! That was me!

But my risk taking strategy has gone very badly wrong!

Elves Day 11

We could say 'serves the highmen right' but elves are far too well brought up to even think such things. We explored more places and debated taking on a lvl 20 D Elf hero. Discretion being the better part of valour, we retreated into the sea.

Highmen Day 11

Recovered a bit today, although a giant took a huge chunk out of our remaining hope. Fortunately, that was the last thing he did.

Our support forces finish off the annoying indies (including 2 nasty druids) that did all the damage last turn. Oh, why did we not wait until they had arrived?!!

Elves Day 12
Nothing much again. Killed an evil hero

Highmen Day 12

Much better day. Several successful battles! Including eradication of the only stack in my homelands, albeit at some cost. But I'm hoping that should provide important breathing space.

Elves Day 13
Still just moving around, collecting things, killing nasty people.

Highmen Day 13

Decisions, decisions. Whether to go this way, that way, or the other way??

Elves Day 14
Thought we'd better start the ball rolling by declaring war on the Highmen. Apart from that, absolutely nothing happened.

Highmen Day 14

One wonders whether the elves are about to strike! Not sure where the heros went after finding the cupboard bare.

Anyway, our decision has been to take on the humans, and one of their heros lies dead. Now we need to find the big hero who wandered past yesterday.

Elves Day 15
No, no intention of striking. Just that I noticed a scout might be walking past a highman node today so didn't want to let the chance of taking it go

Aaargh! We are undone! Our only power source has been stolen by those pesky elves! Well, not really, but it does hurt, and we are not happy...

The human big hero has disappeared completely - can't be sidetracked into searching him out. Off to pastures new.

Elves Day 16
One power node for a hero in a dungeon? Not much in the way of compensation really

As for us, we just go on our merry way.

Highmen Day 16

Not sure where the accursed elf scout that took our valuable source of mana from us has gone. We send someone off to investigate and to perhaps recapture it. Lo and behold! We find the human hero spellcaster! Not that we can do anything about that. Instead, we kill the human king! That battle didn't go exactly as planned, due to the stack that was supposed to act as support troops shooting off where only one of their number should have gone, but we coped.

Things are looking good, so we await the inevitable sting in the tail.
