Lord Frost day 1

We move out and have fun checking out the area. We are not as successful as we would have hoped in our first battles so we regroup to try again tomorrow. Terrible spells to start the game, good thing we've got the air node pumping our research for us.

posted 11-22-03 03:08 PM EDT (US)     2 / 64
We start with enchanted weapon, so that's nice! Our node was only guarded by two eagles so that's ours too. Our first battles go OK, income is positive, but we have to withdraw from a crypt after meeting a bone horror.

We cleaned out 2 dungeons and a prison today, the nearby cities all wave our flag. Too bad a troll killed our Yeti, whack whack, yeti is dead, most unfortunate
We prepare to move out and conquer more lands.

Hmmm. With some reinforcements in position, we plan to kill the bone horror for xp, but now we cant explore, having pinched all the treasure, so thats some movemnet wasted.

Everything else going OK though.

We advance healing our wounds from the battles and preparing to enter the great forests all around. Money is tight and we cannot build all the monsters we desire but begin our plan.

Not much action, apart from being attacked by indies overnight, fortunately with a good outcome!

Lord Frost day 4

We advance killing wandering monsters as we explore the forests. We are pushing the borders out, soon we hope to see our unfriendly cousins who seek to destroy us. We will show them that we are the rightful rulers of this land.

More armies fall to our mighty swords as we clear out dungeons and indie cities

What is this? Humans on the center isle. We were too late

posted 11-26-03 01:23 PM EDT (US)     9 / 64
Humans on the starboard bow, starboard bow, humans on the starboard bow....

Well, we were on the central isle but seem to have provoked the guardians (we think we know how, but that's a secret!).

One good battle in a crypt and some more horsetrading for a city.

We await contact with those other folk.

We manage to capture more key spots and our troops continue to advance. We are not sure where our enemy is hiding but we're sure he's out there.

Lord Frost day 7

We march on and what do our eyes show us.... My enemy has been busy! Large stacks on both sides, this will get interesting, who will survive the battles? We sleep tonight and prepare for the morrow.

posted 11-28-03 01:38 PM EDT (US)     13 / 64
Very interesting positional play - no battles today. Over to the icy ones, to see what they will do.....

Lord Frost day 8

The chess game begins!

The teleporters prove to be of great worth. We take our forces from the East and travel to the west. Our 2 large stacks in the west meet them. Together we have 16 armies, 4 heroes in our midsts to battle against 12 enemies with 3 heroes. Attack!!!!

Spells are flying back and forth. The nasty clerics put my beetle in a block of ice. Archers are falling left and right. Our wisp dies early on and the battle continues. When the dust clears, my enemies have all been defeated and we lost only 4

We collect the treasure they left behind and start to heal all our wounds, for they are many. We hope can prepare for the 25+ troops that are headed this way.

posted 11-28-03 03:58 PM EDT (US)     15 / 64
Lord Frost takes the bait! Our plan was to escape the executioner/cavalier/beetle force and draw in the main force, then hopefully attack with us much of our main force as we could bring. Alternatively, join up and massacre!

But Lord Frost is too clever to be caught like that, and manages to combine his forces. But we can now come in with our two main heros and their executioner/cavalier/beetle support plus others and Lord Frost still has many wounded troops. The battle, phase two......

And Lord Ice leaves the battlefield quite happy! Although there are many backward glances at what else may be coming.

Lord Frost day 9

We had hoped our enemies could not strike us. We miscalculated All is not lost however. We regroup where we can and hopefully leave a nice gift for the invading troops.

The Frost gift heads their way, and long may it continue to do so!

We regroup, and decide how to advance.

Lord Frost day 10

With our main force wiped out we try and regroup. The syron leftover from the razing of the teleporter has done nothing yet, hopefully he'll attack my enemies in the night. They come towards my homeland with great force and I don't know what I'll do to stop them, we shall see.

We continue to march north in the west. Hopefully, the syron will continue to ignore us, although it did take a small city, which it can gladly keep if it stays there.

In the west, we, errr..... march south!

Lord Frost day 11

Our forces march forward in the East capturing everything that's been abandoned. We await the mystic ice storms that will most surely come in the night. We bundle up and prepare for the cold. Hopefully it will do little to thwart us.

In our homeland we prepare for the massive invasion. Our forces gather and are poised to be slaughtered [/color]

Enough is enough in the east, and lo, cometh the ice storm, goeth the penguins.

Progress continues in the west. Hugely virulent battles continue and we judge the attrition rate quite favourable. Although the loss of our executioner was met with a sigh...

There is little left in the homeland but we will continue with what we've got left. We shall see what we can do to stop our enemies. Things are looking bleak.

There's more in the east than we can deal with, so this is developing into a race round the clock. Except that the eastern teleporter is still working and has disgorged an annoyance in the west.

In the homeland we figure we have little left that will survive. In our enemies homeland we are meeting up with resistance, it will not be easy.

The east is tight and we spend all our mana on an ice storm although we cant attack to follow up.

The west looks better, although a single rampaging archer could still cause problems.

Lord Frost day 14

Wounded from the ice storm we decide to gather our troops and lick our wounds. Tomorrow will bring more battles.

In our homeland a bold move was made on 13 powerful armies of our enemy. We attack with our ballistas and they do great damage but the key to our attacks was our mighty Yeti. Having never been in battle before he killed several armies, gained a silver medal and then fell in the end. Starting the battle outnumbered 2 to 1 we are pleased that only 4 of the invaders remained standing, unfortunately one of them was their hero

I guess the steam has run out of our invasion. Time to settle down and build. The units from the razed 4 hex helped a lot.

We hope our enemies do not rest too terribly long, better to keep them running (after us ). We will try and keep the pressure on them as best we can. Hopefully we can put a stop to them. It will not be easy, we will need great luck.

There's life left in this war yet. We decide not to attack the enemy's main force, but to try and prevent reinforcments - maybe we can isolate them!

Lord Frost day 16

We advance and retaliate on the loss we suffered. Our mighty hero and silver medal yeti approach 11 archers. Fortunately we show up with 9 archers and penguin of our own. Our hero cast chain lightening stopping the attack of a few archers. Our yeti withstands several volleys of arrows, our archers hit their marks. We stand victorious in this battle We press on for the next target.

Elsewhere, it's going to be rough!
