This is a rematch on the modified human valley map (toned down so it's not as hard as the insane version but harder than the standard version)

Game 1 - Enginerd as Dark Elves - Unicorn as Elves

Game 1 Dark Elves day 1-2

We move out and capture a nearby city (actually they decide it worthwhile to join our cause). Bummer, an indie dwarf 3-hex will have to be captured...

Game 2 Elves day 1

We move out and decide to try and seduce Lily. Oops! Silly me, can't seduce a girl. She dies before we can retreat and buy her loyalty. Evil indie cities all over the place

Game 1 - elves

We wander around somewhat unsure of our surroundings - we try to occupy a friendly city by force but lose our priest as his entanglement fails twice.

Game 2 - dark elves

We know where to go - lets investigate a crypt! Inside we find a few low level troops and a doom priest - who gets seduced - great! We move back and entice one of those wolf thingies with fire strike to come to our lines. Except that we misjudge distance and it heads straight for our lady of pain, who survives its bite with one hp left then dies from burning, so bang goes our doom priest too. Pity. We kill everything else with no further losses, but having a lop and a doom priest versus none looks like a big difference.....

Arghhh, another indie city is owned by another good race. Guess we'll have to kill them too.

Game 2 Elves day 2

We test our skills against an indie darkelf town, they all die, we stand victorious. We hope future battles with the dark elves go the same way . We'll need them to because our life node is guarded by a gold dragon and we spot another evil indie city

We clear out a monster lair but lose another unit. Looking out now for attacks in the night...

Game 2 Dark elves

One small battle and we park outside a city, which we fail to buy by just few gold coins. Halflings have landed and overthrown a city already.

Game 1 Dark Elves day 4

We clear out a dungeon and pick up nice treasure. Our scouts tell us the Halflings are on the march. Drats! they will buy the indie cities before we can conquer them.

Game 2 Elves day 3

Finally, an indie city that we can buy, too bad we lose advance scouts to the wandering monsters.

Game 1 elves

A battle for an unfriendly one hex, which could have gone horribly wrong, actual goes very well - our 4 units v their 6 and we kill the lot without loss! who needs clerics?


Game 2 Dark Elves

A city taken by force and another bought. Perhaps that will allow us to stop the halfling invasion.....

We retreat and regroup to fight off the invasion that grows with every indie city these halflings buy.

Progress is slow but the battles continue to go our way.

Game 1 Elves

Another battle for an unfriendly city goes well, although everyone is badly wounded. We desperately need a healer now, although we are migrating the city so we will recover whilst that happens. Then we shall have to deal with a large number of orcs in the south.

Game 2 Dark Elves

Our exploratory force achieves nothing - halflings down south too, have already captured the tower and are too strong in the city. And the node is guarded by a black dragon.....

Game 1 Dark Elves day 6

The halflings are approaching, we prepare our defenses and feel confident that we can drive them out. We shall see what the night brings.

Game 2 Elves day 5

Our advance scout spots the orcs trying to invade over the bridge and the wandering boars continue to cause problems. The invading halflings are nowhere to be seen so they must be having fun with our evil cousins.

Game 1 Dark Elves day 6

We kill some invading halflings and prepare to kill more tomorrow. Another batch of halflings ran away so we start the chase after them. We begin migrating the 3-hex to something more useful than yucky dwarves.

Game 2 Elves day 5

Orc are approaching so we prepare for that battle, it is still 2 days away, they've got a catapult and hero with them, could get ugly. Another scout dies to the wandering boars, at least one of them died this time so only one left. Our hunting party will take care of him next turn.

Game 1 Elves

A turn of mixed fortunes. We produce a desperately needed cleric and send him on what we thought was a safe route to our main party. But he gets caught by two wolves and killed, so now we have to start all over again. But a lone archer behind orc lines ventures out to engage their catapault and just manages to destroy it. Ane their level 6 hero does not have wallclimbing so we are safe for the time being.

Game 2 Dark Elves

Disaster! Our badly wounded hero went a bit too far last turn and got caught by 4 wolves. Now he is dead and our hopes are in tatters...

We kill a couple halflings and watch the others continue to run away. We prepare for the next wave of battles with the halflings as we attempt to secure our homeland.

Game 2 Elves day 7

The orcs approach, we flee before them as our meager troops will not stand. Fortunately that stupid wandering boar is dead. He wandered into mighty troops and fell to the sword.

Game 1 Dark Elves day 9

Our scouts push forward into the unknown... Uh-oh, looks like that scout went too far, Halflings are too close and will most likely attack in the night

Game 2 Elves day 8

The Orcs advance and we prepare to attack them tomorrow (unless they push on in the night). We expect their hero and troops will wait in our lovely 3-hex city and start migrating it. We must attack and retake the city. Still no sign of the Halflings

Action, and good action!

Dark elves suffer some overnight losses but regroup and kill a level 6 halfling hero and support.

Elves sally forth from the newl migrated 2 hex and take a builders guild, recruiting one of the guards. Other forces come down in a pincer movement, with the orcs seemingly in retreat.

Game 1 Dark Elves day 10

We march on to attack the invading halflings. Arghhh! We thought it was only 10 but it grew to 17 invading hordes in the night including a few frogs. Ick! We attack since we are committed and kill 10 of the invading horde, 7 remain. We wonder if the frogs will attack in the night.

Game 2 Elves day 9

The stupid Orc hero ran away from the town and only brought along one summoned fire sprite with him. We decide to attack the hero, we cannot seduce him so he dies a terrible death. We take his treasure (oooh, what lovely armor, shield and weapon ). Elsewhere, things continue to go well.

Game 1 elves

Another flippin' spider turns up and walks straight into another of our cities - that's two lost. But we capture another and kill some stragglers.

Game 2 Dark Elves

A disasterous battle against a few halfling troops and a catapault. We easily kill the support and are left with 6 archers/darters v the catapault - which kills 4 with 4 shots - the last of which was with 1 hp left. But we capture a 3 hex and sit around again while it migrates.

Game 1 Dark Elves day 11

Oh No! We thought we could kill the remaining 7 troops (mostly frogs) but it seems the Halfling leaders have joined in. Sandra and Ham both with some sort of concealment were hiding all along. Our ragged troops rally and attack the scattered halfling troops (8 more in all). All that is left are the 2 strong heroes and my bunch of darters/archers that are in dire need of rest. Reinforcements are rushing to the area (and leaving behind other halfling troops invading the other side of the homeland )

Game 2 Elves day 10

We take care of the remaining 4 troops in our 3-hex and secure it. However a new threat has arrived, another Orc hero with several support troops We make a feeble attack and kill a few of the weakend support troops before retreating. The hero remains with only a fire sprite (that killed 2 of our human swordsmen we seduced only a turn or two ago ). Our fearless leader rushes back to face this new threat.

Game 1 elves

Ha! We've got them orcs trapped! We recover our 1 hex and should get our 2 hex (unmigrated!) back tomorrow. We might lose our 3 hex, but we have forces including a ram in the area capable of recapturing it and killing levle 7 Jettah!

Game 2 Dark elves

Looks like we've eradicated halflings in the south - until that blessed galleon turns up again, that is! Now to trek up to the weakened north to engage Sondra and co.

Game 1 Dark Elves day 12

The 2 halflings heroes decided to enter into my realm rather than retreat. We take care of their insolence with our mighty darters. They fall, filled with poison in the veins. There are still several halflings in the south that must be dealt with. To Arms!

Game 2 Elves day 11

The Orc hero bought another city that rebelled, darn! We must attack and the battle goes well. The Orc spider queen hero is now dead and our hero picked up more treasure. Unfortunately the orcs have crossed the bridge again, this time the 8 stack has a catapult and 2 heavy cavalry to support their archers/swordsmen

Game 1 Elves

Stupidly attack Jattah and support with too few troops - def 10 needs more than a few slingers to deal with. We did kill the rider and spider, but now we have to wait a long while before engaging

Game 2 Dark elves

Little action, but more stupidity. Moved some troops that were supposed to be occupying a city while it migrated.

It's all getting a bit much for me....

The Orcs have finally decided to attack. Fortunately they only kill halflings this time around. I'm sure there are more Orcs approaching. Here we go again.

Game 2 Elves day 12

Arghhh! Just when I start to get ahead more orcs show up. We retreat and regroup hoping to kill the invasion of 13 orc armies. Our 3 hex will fall (again).

Game 1 Elves

Tomorrow we will be able to move towards our occupied 3 hex. But we fear it will have been migrated before we can get anything like the force needed to deal with Jattah, and the sprites that are being conjured daily.

We did pinch a mine - off the halflings!


Game 2 Dark elves

We scurry back to ensure the city migrates next turn. Also because a ranger is heading towards it, and the galleon is parked in an ominous loading position.

Game 1 Dark Elves day 14

The orcs are advancing and the halflings retreating. We capture another town from the halflings and prepare to kill more them. The orcs are out of reach, but tomorrow will be a different story.

Game 2 Elves day 13

The mighty orc invasion is over. Our mighty archers move in on the orc armies. We do suffer some damage but all the invaders are dead and the 3-hex is now ours. We prepare to move on to the rest of our objectives.

Game 1 Dark Elves day 15

We march on and kill more halflings. We see several of their troops gathering but we have a turn or two to prepare. The orcs have little strength and our troops will be within reach soon.

Game 2 Elves day 14

We march on after the victories of yesterday. Maybe tomorrow we will kill more of those that stand in our way.

Game 2 Dark Elves

Sondra leaves herself vulnerable to massed pinpricks and dies! That's 2 halfling heros down.

We tentatively explore a castle ruin, lose a rider and withdraw in the face of centaur. Perhaps we shall go and collect the halfling goodies first....

We kill a nice 8 stack of halflings, filled with a catapult and ballista, lost a couple minor troops. Soon orcs will be attacking once again.

Game 2 Elves day 15

Little but movement of my troops, we are preparing to attack orcs and halflings.

We advance and kill some of the orcs. There are many more out there. Halflings attack in the night and we retreat to regroup.

Game 2 Elves day 16
We advance on the orcs, uh-oh. Another hero with 3 or 4 catapults, ballistas and other things. We retreat and regroup.
