We stick to our strategy with minor tactical deviations. Some losses overnight, which are basically due to grabbing outlying resources before evil hordes emerge, so they were not unexpected and probably worthwhile on balance. The Highmen have by far the easier time of it having both good starting spells and nice independent city alignments. The Elves sprint forward to grab a shipyard before the Dwarves, but hostilities cannot commence yet due to peaceful relations.

Both Highmen and Elf plans continue - battles fought and won. The highmen have some handy dwarves in service, which enables us to head over some mountains for a bonus target.

Highmen follow the plan nicely and all battles go well. Elves are more problematical - the scurrying foursome make it back home but there is a full stack of goblins including a high level hero and two trolls at the other gates, so the home guard will need everything it's got to survive.

Highmen still doing OK, but the big hero threatening elf heartlands does more than threaten. But now that we see we have been beaten to the centre by a turn or two, our battle plan has to change and may encompass a return to deal with the hero.

The highmen decide to pursue other ventures than footling about in the centre, although they are not yet sure what they may be. The elves would have instigated the first hero battle, if only they had been hasted when they should have been.

The Big Boys feel they are slowly recovering, although halfpint incursions abound. Heros have been crashing to the ground aplenty, except for the highmen who remain adrift. Our elfazrac is not attacked by warlords after being left high and dry as the sole survivor of the latest carnage, which was a relief. We know there's a king making a level nearby, but we gather some troops ready for action.
