Reignbeau - 20

Things getting a little hectic for the northern alliance so I unleash a bit of pressure back upon both southern factions.

Ulmrat of the Orcs - Day Twentyone

This morning I wake up and the messanger had surpising news to tell. Our forces sent to the underground to recapture the goblin town the elven witch stole me encountered the resistance of two waterdancers on the way down.

Fortunatly the expedition was strong enough to quickly dispatch them and proceed the march to reclaim what is rightfully mine.

Elsewhere a reinforcement of our garrisons is in order since we spotted a large draconian army approaching.

Raiding in Felix's scrubby dry lands.

Hunting tigrans in the halfling lands.

Looking for a gap in the orc defences.

Little action.

Ulmrat of the Orcs - Day Twentytwo (late post)

It seems the elves grossly underestimated our forces, the draconian army did not flee at my presence! They instead went forward with the intent of attacking my capitol! Such arrogance!

I personally led my shamen army in battle and thanks to my leadership and powerful magic we quickly dispatched the invaders. They will learn not to provoke me anymore.

We found the town in the underground unguarded, goblin tribes rejoice for the liberation of their land.

It also seems the halfings like to play with fire as a zephir bird has been spotted in our mining area. I'll make sure it won't cause any problem.

Marching... what else can I do !

I played twice the halflings now and I strongly believe the flooding curse his way to heavy on them. I had a very (very!) late message about rebuilding a earth node.

By the time I had the message, able to rush a settlers (only 2 turns), sent it underground and rebuilt that node, half my land was flooded, almost all my crops gone, many gold structures razed and more important my main army (in a watchtower !) drowned leaving no defence at all in my land.

I could be wrong, but if so, anyone, please help me to know how to play them. But still, I think a player shouldn't have to know a "path" in order to play a scenario.

Don't misread me, I like this map, it's beautiful and enjoyable, but I think a work is needed regarding the halflings to have that map balanced.

My 2 cents.

I agree that the halflings are a tough prospect. At least we'll be able to switch sides after this game and further test the balance.

I would love too (replay and switch side). In fact, I would rather be proved wrong than realizing I'm right and have to request an update on the map.

Well, I have played the halflings only once against human opponents.. I don't like them because they don't have mana but they have lot of cash and the ability to muster a huge army at the start.

I think they are quite viable actually and I'd love to rematch with you guys switching sides if Keldon agrees. Problem is he's a very busy with work currently and it seems we're going a bit slow

And btw, I think the odds of winning this one are still 50/50.. At some point (when I saw the elven domain in the underground indicating you guys captured the Fortress of Scale) I thought we were doomed..

Jeremia Hayseed, day ?

These days are hard for halflings, but my people have a good morale and they still hope for better days... if I can make it happend !!

****

Sorry, this game was slow lately because of me. But I from now on I'll be back to "played the same day received".

I'm without land, so I doubt it still a 50/50 game. But still, I enjoy it and will play to my best !

Another quiet day in the orcish realm, but our troops are preparing for the assault on Reignbeau's possessions.

The elves are doomed.

Well, you guys still control the major part of the underground and at least half the surface.. we'll see..

Ulmrat is always preaching his doom and gloom, but the only thing we are doomed to do is rule his bone dry lands.

This is true, I dont have the game anymore. But that doesn't really matters, it was the turn I could only acknowledge my death...

I may do that an another time if the game is resent. Althought I respect my partner, homeless, military weak, alone against two, my land completly razed and flood, I strongly believe he has no chance at all to kill of the ennemy wizards. Most likely everyone will agree...

I deleted the game, after few weeks if I recall right, since I was out.
