A not very useful, but immensely cool unit was lost in combat today. His draconian allies will avenge his death by killing... EVERYONE!

I seriously consider replacing my courtesan... I asked the opinion of some dwarves and woodsmen in the last couple of days, and none of them seems to think she's attractive! Can't have people telling that the great A'shir's courtesan is an ugly witch, can we? We'll make this a matter of national security!

We spotted the nomad leader himself, standing on a naval dock with some troops! No doubt our scout will die again, but this is what they are bred for - our army will soon avenge their deaths!

Despite the fact that we survived the dragon's first wave, from my tall tower i still see more troops marching towards me. I see now that i have no place in this world. Hereby I, Ne-Khan surrender the key to my tower to A'shir, king of Dragons.

Congratulations Cranberry and Good luck with your other games

Ladies and gentleman, this is TNS reporting live from the Mountain of Gods scene where we have just witnessed the first game in the tournament ending between Cranberry and Toth. It seems to have been going back and forth for a while, but Cranberry managed to get the upper hand.

Cranberry, congratulations with your victory against Toth! Can you elaborate some more on the accomplishment? Did you have a particular strategy that gave you the edge in this match?

And Toth, do you care to comment on your loss? What would you have done differently next time?

Hi Swolte and thanks a lot!

I knew the map, having it played once before the tournament started, and I knew that most cities had a lot of building restrictions, but that there were a lot of recruitment sites that I could take advantage of to get those valuable lvl 3's fast. Also, each wizard starts the game with a courtesan; seduce can also account for a large portion of the army I used.
I focused on liberating those recruitment sites as soon as possible, then went for the Siege recruitment site in the frostling area, where a ship was for sale, with the intention of rushing into my enemy's territory as fast as possible. Worked pretty well, even though my first wave was beaten back; I could recuperate quickly from this due to the fact that I had liberated 4 recruitment sites by that time, so I had more troops in the offensive while Toth had not yet recovered from the first wave.

Fortes fortuna Adiuvat!
