Elves Day 1

We get surprised by a lone hero on the map we hadn't seen when checking in the editor. Soon, he is not alone!

The main mob go wandering off in search of resources.

Frostlings Report - Day 1

We have but a small 2 hex city and a 1 hex city in which we must build and conquer the lands. And so we shall!! We were fortunate that a wizard sold us the spell of bless - it is something that we could not reseach and we were most greatful...now if only we could find a wizard selling stone skin!

Our hero and troops explore a ruined castle and take 2 medicore items. Elsewhere we bought the services a lightly defended human city.

Elves Day 2

Income is a bit of a problem, but we capture a one hex human city and some resources are on the horizon, so things should start to look up.

Frostlings Report - Day 2

During the night, 4 wolves attack - but are easily slaughtered. The day was one of resting and recovering from wounds. We are joyful that we have not yet lost any of our brave troops, but many are sorely injured and need some time to rest and recuperate. Our gold reserves did increase with the recovery of 50 gold and the capture of a mine.

Elves Day 3

We find our way back to our heartlands.

Also, we find some gold, that enables us to buy some nice people.

Now we look for battles so we can get wounded too!

Frostlings - Day 3

We spot an orc city - perhaps they can be of use? The only diplomacy that this barbarians understand is that of the sword - so we crush them. Now they will serve us!

Sadly, our yeti get a bit big-headed and attempted to take on 4 pengiuns himself. His loss is hard for us to accept so early in our attempt to take these lands...

Elves Day 4

Oh for a yeti to waste, or some gold, or both. We park outside a nice city whilst the inhabitants throw demands over the walls demanding exhorbitant sums to join us!

Our scouts range far and wide, trying to get some sense of the strange teleportals and their interlocking network.

Frostlings - Day 4

Our main force is recovering after the capture of an air node - which means we are finally able to start researching and using some spells! Bless has been cast on our hero and a wolf rider already. Sadly another wizard tower yielded a wimpy spell that we are going to be able research anyway and so we did not pay for it.

Elsewhere, our kingdom is slowly growing as we add a builders guild and a mana node...slow but steady.

Elves Day 5

Gimme gold, more gold! So much to spend it on and so little to spend. We have to kill a few highmen to gain one more city.

Frostlings - Day 5

We rejoice as another wizard tower holds a key spell for us: stone skin. Still several more spells on our wish list, but we are overjoyed to have bless and stone skin added to our spellbook!

Meanwhile:
Mikail continues to gain experience as this day she leads a force of wolf riders to capture a power node and embarks on a journey to save a mage that we heard rumors about.

Nayferac and his human allies fought a long hard battle in which he nearly died and some of his allies did fall. In the end, the prison guards were killed and a salamander and Lidiax were freed. Lidiax's ability to cast spells was immediately put to use and will be a great benefit as Nayferac has yet to master that ability!

Elves Day 6

Not much action - but much searching out of cities and weighing up options. Wish we could find a prison or something.

Frostlings - Day 6

Mikail entered the crater and after a search found Horil, whom had been guarded by trolls and orc warlords. Much blood was spilt, but the reward was worth it.

Horil and his yeti bodyguard captured a town and shipyard and move toward new objectives.

Nayferac and Lidiax had a quiet day as they rested and moved towards some (hopefully) unguarded mines.

Elves Day 7

Much busier today. We buy a nice 4 hex, find some gold and capture a 2 hex. Our main strike force captures a shipyard (or builders guild, memory is failing) and our hero has just enough movement to park on a monster lair..... then thinks he will be a little nosy and go in all on his own. Careful exploration nearly comes a cropper, as he is fired upon by a musketeer, and after charging forward to kill it, encounters a cavalier! Fortunately, it is despatched with no problems and the remaining 6 units pose no real threat, so some nice items are now put to good use!

Frostlings - Day 7

Mikail gained another level today and along with her escorts, she captured a small town, a builders guild, and a power node.

Horil managed to take a decent sized town and even dominated a few of the defenders for good measure

Nayferac had a very bad day...at least he will not be having any more bad days He died (stupidly) in a ruins. A very painful loss.

Lidiax continues on without Nayferac for a guild. He almost dies as well, but manages to escape with his life!

Elves

Wish we had heros to waste. Our two do OK though, one gains 2 levels (must have missed one!) and the other takes on 3 druids and 2 priests on a life node, aided only by a couple of priests and a unicorn. The hero suffers all sorts of indignities such as entanglement and stunning but soaks up the pressure whilst the unicorn gets all the xp. And now we have a life node!

And we spot a dungeon! Only about a week to get there.

Elves Day 9

Not much action, but what there is is disastrous. We lose 4 units to 2 charlatans.

Frostlings - Day 9

Mikail and Horil combined their strength to take out a dragon and some nordic glows. Managed to dominate a few yetis to replace the ones we have lost; although we failed in our attempts to dominate some more frost queens. The treasure was nice as well from the ruins.

Some deattached forces run into trouble (got slaughtered) by an Azarc Yaka Avatar. Going to have to be careful...of course if I could get Horil over there - and get a bit of luck...hmmm...

Other deattached forces were slaughtered by some spiders during the night, but reinforcements made the spiders pay and took a town from the Orcs as well.

Elsewhere, Lidiax is considering his options (he has lots of good ones)...his salamanders and frost queen give him a good force to work with, but even with his recent level gain, he remains the weakest of our heroes. He is careful, for after losing Nayferac, losing him as well would end our attempts to gain ground in that area.

Overall, a good turn - our goal of turning the world to snow shall be realized!

Elves Day 10

A busier turn, although not as busy as the frostlings appear to be - no sign of them on the map as yet, though.

Our hero captures a nice human 3 hex, whilst a dwarf uses his mountain skills to accept the services of a city with two giants. who go on to take a power node off 4 spirit puppets. Other troops on the move.

Frostlings - Day 10

Mikail and Horil are racing back towards the Azarc and Orcs that are invading!

Elsewhere, Lidiax is waiting for support.

Overall, only 1 battle fought (and a small one at that). Quiet...to quiet!

Elves Day 11

Big battle in a crypt, which had to be refought due to unexplained aow crash. It goes quite well, in that our unicorn gained valuable xp, our hero gained some xp and a surfeit of ranged weapons, and our army gained a powerful unhappy unit!

Another hero kills a couple of riders and waits for scouts to catch up, of which we lost too many overnight.

Various other expansion activities and one minor battle carried out by other troops.

We spy frostlings! Well, only one actually.

Frostlings - Day 11

Mikail and Horil managed to join the battle against the Orcs. First they dominated 2 beholders to help us, then Horil explored a prison, dominating a titan and freeing Edirr Darkblade.

Edirr and his companions quickly joined the battle crushing a stack of 8 orcs.

The Azarcs grow in strength on our borders...we move to counter them.

Lidiax, meanwhile, managed to dominate two nice units and they start on their mission to bring ruin to the Elves!

Elves

Very worried by all this frostling domination. Our hero with domination is so weak we cant' afford to let him use it on any powerful units, even if we found any!

At least we have now spied out several targets for investigation, including one prison. But they are so far away!

Frostlings - Day 12 The wings blow against us

Lidiax decided to take a chance and it worked out well, as the frost queen froze the sea serpent and then Lidiax dominated him...excellent.

Grrr...computer crashed...

Lidiax decided to take a chance and it failed horribly! The frost queen was unable to freeze the serpent and it dealt a lot of damage to Lidiax's escorts before it had to be killed, as the freezing just seemed to bounce off.

More of Lidiax's escorts spotted a very badly wounded Yaka Avatar...2 salamanders and 3 archers moved in to finish the beast. We lost Not only that, our silver medal salamander and 2 archers were dominated

Lidiax is looking a bit weak on the support now and is going to have to take a couple of days to rebuild his forces.

Mikail and Horil continued to fight against the Orcs and Azarcs. They managed to take down a half dozen troops - dominating a few archers in the process.

Edirr Darkblade with his storm priests managed to dominate a troll (good job folks! that troll is pure evil)...we ran the troll off to try to find some Orcs or Azarcs to kill. With our luck, it will desert us and the Orcs will recruit the thing!

Elsewhere, our boat dropped off 4 archers to take a power node from a few spirit puppets...1 spirit puppet remains and all our archers are dead.

With the Azarcs and Orcs strong on our borders...things are starting to look a bit bleak.

Jealous of the Frostlings getting all the action. All we have is indies killing scouts overnight and our troops picking up the pieces during the day.

We did notice the casting of earth mastery - mainly because we are in posession of an earth node, and now a nice earth elemental!

Frostlings - Day 13 Things not improving yet...

Lidiax spent a boring day resting and gathering strength...with the Azarcs moving in, he needs help to face the yaka avatar and it's guards.

Mikail and Horil continued their success, getting some items and dominating some low level units...between them, there is little that could stop them

Edirr Darkblade took his storm priests and some frostling shaman along with a beholder as scout towards another front with the Orcs.

Elsewhere, we lost 2 yetis in an attempt to clear another prison...sooooo close to getting the prisoners free and perhaps strengthening that front...now it seems we will have to wait quite a while there...that is okay, lots of fronts to contend with!

Still very worried about falling behind in the expansion schedule. At least we have now spotted some orcs to fight. And two giants and an archer clear out a prison containing some azrac nasties and a couple of spiders without much damage, releasing some very nice prisoners.

Frostlings - Day 14 A boring day

Lidiax spent a slightly interesting day recruiting more troops to help in the fight against the humans, dwarves, azarcs and orcs...yup...he is a bit outnumbered

Mikail and Horil were completely bored...they found no one to fight...hasted and with high movement - and still no action. They were rather sad, but tomorrow looking more promising!

Edirr Darkblade changed his mind and now moves to a different location with a new and most likely very foolish plan...we shall see in about 3 days!

Some action - but not enough, not enough!

Elves

Disaster!

Overnight we get action of the wrong kind, i.e. the kind in which a powerful stack turns up out of the blue and kills all your main attack stack, including hero.

And in a depressed state, we play a dungeon battle badly and lose a hero.

Not good.

Elves

We are doomed! If reports coming from the Frostlings of all their kinky domination are correct. Not that we don't mind a bit of domination. Just that a) we have not met any units worth dominating, except for a bone horror and b) we now do not posess a dominator.

Managed to kill an orc warlord this turn, and that's about it.
