Please do post your new pbem games, petition for substitute players, report when you will be absent from an ongoing game, or whatever else applies to PBEM gaming news. Please feel free to post suggestions about this thread too.

Please Note: New Service - Contact one of the players in the "Game Password Keepers" box to hold passwords for a game. That way, if one passworded player *disappears* on you, he can help you unlock the game so you can continue play. If you can help, please sign up by posting your email here!

Retrieving Passworded Games: If you find yourself in a game where one player has disappeared and has passworded his turn, contact each person on the list to see if they have the password. The contact should unlock the game but not give out the password. (Delete the password or put in a new one.) This guarantees that passwords remain confidential. (Some players use one password for all games.)


  1. Please do not post messages stating you are looking for a game. Instead, post a link to a message about starting a game.


  2. To avoid clutter, please avoid discussions on this thread. Instead, add a link to a thread with the discussion.


  3. Note: ALL messages will eventually be deleted. Keep a copy if you will want the text of your post later.

WHAT TO POST:

New games:
  1. PBEM game map name or game name.

  2. A link to the game's turn log or signup thread. (To put a link to a thread in your post, just copy the url from your browser "address" line, create the new topic under "pbem news," and past the address line into the message).

  3. A short (only a few lines) description of the game. Shorter is better.

  4. Post a followup message when the game is filled.


Substitutes:
  1. Same information as for new games.

  2. What race needs a substitute.

  3. Post a followup message when the position is filled.


Absentee notice:
  1. Your name and possibly game name(s); race would be nice too.

  2. Days absent.


Other:
  1. A short paragraph with other pertinent information (such as "game stared" or "position filled").

  2. A link to another thread for discussion purposes. DO not discuss here! Please.

My baby daughter has been in the pediatric ICU since last Monday and her stay has lasted much longer than I originaly thought. Might be another 2-3 days but I can't say for sure. Sorry for the delay!

Sorry I haven't been around for a while, started a job which I've been working at a lot lately (helped my girlfriend get a puppy). Also getting ready for university to start in a few days. Say goodbye to my social life everybody. I'm hoping I'll still be able to keep up with all my games and everything else in life at the same time, but who knows...?

Greetings everyone.

I am finally back. Sorry for the major delay on my part for the past month or two. I generally find myself not around the house much anymore so it's difficult to do anything other than homework and sleep while I'm here. I'm getting laptop in a few days so it should be much easier to play my turns as I'll pretty much be able to play wherever I please.

Thank you all for waiting for me. I'll try not to have you do so again in the near future.

MY RL issues have kept me away from AoW for some time, and it seems it won't improve until the end of the month, so I probably won't be able to play my turn for a week or two. Sorry for any possible delay!

I was finally able to install the game on my laptop and everything seems to work smoothly once more!!
I can now return to my games and campaign. Sorry for all the delays.

Background: The problem was that my good old computer broke down some time before change of the year.
The new PC computer refused to install the game correctly and I could not play my turns.

Due to some problems with my computer (see the AoWSM PBEM news thread for details) I did a system restore, which caused restart messages in all my games.

The 2 turns I have in my inbox will take another week or so. My laptop had a virus which wiped a bunch of my stuff. I'll get around to reinstalling AoW soon.

Will be (partly, I hope) absent from March 14th to 21st, due to being on vacation. I'll be bringing my laptop, and will try to play all my games, but there may be delays (or I might find myself without access to the net at all). Note, however, that playing any turns on my laptop will generate restarts.

Electric went out yesterday afternoon and is not back on. Running computer on generator but do not like to do so very long so won't be playing any turns or anything. Will get to them as soon as I can once power is back on!
