North and South
Up and Down
Light and Dark.....

Opposites.

They say opposites attract, just like poles on a magnet. But it is probably more true to say that opposites need each other. For without up, there could be no down; and without darkness we would not know light. So it is with North and South. If you travel far enough North, eventually you must go South. And if you travel far enough South then in the end you will be going North.

Perhaps that is why the Frostling and the Azracs have engaged in war. The Frostlings live so far north, that they can only march south. The Azracs are so far south that a northward conquest was inevitable. But while the two march ever closer, it is doubtful that they feel an attraction. Rather instead, I believe.. they are likely to fell a violent revulsion!!

So the Azrac leader travels to the nearby reflecting pool in the sand to consult her Soothsayer regarding the conquest to the North, and the Frostling leader travels through the snow to the Oracle by the frozen pond to solicit information regarding the march south. Each leader seeks knowledge and wisdom, but more so each seeks to lay claim to the other's lands.

North and South, Fire and Ice, Snow and Sand. Opposites that definately do not attract!!

Note:

This is a Two Player Map meant for duals over a lan or for PBEM Play.
Only two races are played on the base map, Frostlings and Azracs.
The map is Medium in size but a lot of playability has been crammed into the three levels. Please consult the wisdom of the refecting pool on your first turn, and wait for the message from the Soothsayer or the Oracle. The information is valuable.

I have also included a six race map with 4 races played by the CPU

Play with leaders off.

and finally ...... enjoy!!

Comments:

Designed for leaders off, this map comes in two flavours - a two player version and a six player version with four computer players. Make sure you get a pen and paper for when you are told the locations of the cities you must capture...

The map looks great and uses timed releases to good effect. A few more messages would come in handy, and the map suffers from being symmetrical to achieve balance. Despite this, it plays very well, and the map could be converted to a six player FFA or even co-op quite easily.
