Competitions & Tournaments
Welcome to the AOWH Tourney section! Here, you will find monthly and on-going contests for: solo, online multiplayer and play-by-email (PBEM) games.
You can find the most up-to-date information on the various tourneys in the AOWH Competitions & Tournaments forum. Please post your comments or questions about any of the tourneys in that forum. Before you can compete, you will need to register on our forums. If you have already registered with any other Heavengames (“HG”) forum, you don’t need to register again as you can use your screen name and password on any HG forum.
All of the maps used in AOWH tourneys are either custom-made especially for the tourney or are a heavily modified version of a previously created map. You can find all of the current tourney maps in the Downloads section. Be sure you disable any download accelerator or download management programs before you attempt to download any maps or else you will receive an error message.
Make sure you have installed the latest patch to bring your game up to v1.36 (aka, Triumph Standard Rules or “TS136 Rules”).
On occasion, the maps used in the tourneys may utilize a popular mod-pack to Age of Wonders called Warlock’s Rules. You can obtain it from our Misc. Downloads section. There are instructions at that link on how to install the mod pack and trouble-shooting tips. If you have any further questions about installing Warlock’s Rules (“WR”), please post them on our Mod Packs & Warlock’s Rules forum.
Please Note: You cannot play maps designed for the standard TS136 rules with Warlock’s Rules enabled. It will cause your game to have errors or even crash.
