Age of Wonders Shadow Magic Sound Set

This AoWSM sound set will make it possible to listen to the old AoW I music.

AoW I Music:
------------

I think it would be nice to hear all the nice AoW I songs again in AoWSM.
Of course everyone who have AoW I can do it himself but then he have only the songs and no map in AoWSM will play them because of wrong filenames and numbers.
My idea is to rename all the AoW I songs in a kind that the new filenames and numbers of the songs are the same as all the original AoWSM song files.
Why? Because the AoWSM editor let the mapmaker choose what the player should hear in the map later but he can (of course) only choose from his mp3´s on his HD and don´t knows the filenames of the songs of any player out there.
If the mapmaker want that the player hear some music he is driven to use the Original AoWSM songs in his maps because this are the only songs that every AoWSM player has on his HD and in his AoWSM directory.
My idea is to convert, merge and remane the old AoW I songs to the filenames of AoWSM.
Are there problems?
Nothing that can´t be solved.
AoW I have 25 music tracks but AoWSM have only 18.
I think it´s nice to hear all this nice old AoW I songs again in AoWSM and so I made a AoW I sound set for AoWSM.
I have merged some of the AoW I songs together to decrease the 25 AoW I songs to only 18 AoWSM songs now.
You can see it in the tracklist below what AoW I songs was merged together.
Below you can see what the old AoW I songs become in AoWSM. All songs are in mp3 192 kbit quality.
Known bugs: None
It works fine on my machine.
The more songs the mapmaker has choosen his map the more songs from good old AoW I you will hear in AoWSM.
If you use the files as explained below, you will not lose any Original AoWSM file and you can allways return to the original songs of AoWSM.
But I can not guarantee that you don´t make mistakes and loose files and so I will not be the one that is guilty if you loose anything on your machine.

I was trying to merge and make the AoW I songs in a kind that the sphere and the spirit is 'in tune' with the the AoWSM songs.
I hope you will like this AoW I sound set for AoWSM and I wish you much fun listening to all the old songs in AoWSM again.

How to install this sound set?
1. Go to your AoWSM songs directory. C:\Program files\Age of Wonders Shadow Magic\songs. Create a new folder named "AoWSM Original songs" for example. Copy or move all the original songs into this new folder.
1. Extract the zip file to C:\Program files\Age of Wonders Shadow Magic\songs. There will be a new folder then, named "AoW I Sound Set".
2. Open this folder. C:\Program files\Age of Wonders Shadow Magic\songs\AoW I Sound Set
3. Take all the files in this folder and copy or move them to the songs folder back where your original songs where before.
4. Done
Note: If you want to change the music back to the AoWSM Original songs simply move the mp3´s back into the AoW I Sound Set folder and grab and move the songs from the AoWSM Original songs folder back.

Format explanation:
The AoW I song "21. Age of Wonders Title.mp3" becomes the AoWSM song "Title.MP3"

I've been enjoying the SM soundset but I loved the Aow1 songs too. Great for a change !

I´m happy that someone like it. I think the same. It´s nice to have a little changed and it´s allways possible to change back easy.
Should be nice to hear the old sounds with the new translated Marlenes Gnade map.

Yes. Someone still play it. I am very happy to read your review.
Just now. These days my son and I play one of my maps.
When I start working on AoWSM he was not born already.
Really a timeless game.
He just fixed me on again.
