February 7, 1943. 20:14
After much worrying, we finally discovered the final death eater. Walden Macnair (EnemyOfJupitor), an enthusiast of weapons of all types, was caught in his room cleaning fresh blood from one of his axes. He was arrested and immediately sent to Azkaban. The threat is ended. And, even better, we will not have to close the school down. Congratulations to all the students and teachers who helped us hunt down and end this terrible organization.

February 7, 1943. 8:42
Another student has been attacked. This time, it was Pomona Sprout (Culverin), a second year Hufflepuff student. The body appears to have been tortured and then executed by decapitation. I have no ideas as to who might due such a dreadful thing to a student. We shall continue our search and get to the bottom of all of these killings.

February 6, 1943. 21:44
Today has been a long day. After an exhaustive search by all of us here at Hogwarts, we turned up very little. However, there was one among us who refused to participate, and for that we cast a weary eye on him. Xenopilius Lovegood (Ancalagon), a 4th year Ravenclaw student, after refusing to answer our questions, especially those concrning his nightly activities, was sent off to Azkaban to receive the dementor's kiss for alleged crimes against the school. However, much later, another Ravenclaw student who wished to remained unnamed came forward and told us that Lovegood had taken it on himself to capture the death eaters, and patrolled the nights, planning to petrify any others he encountered.

February 6, 1943. 8:15
I was woken early today by the sound of metal clashing down upon the tile floors from the second floor. I couldn't tell whether it was just Peeves or the attacker and kept my wand arm steady. As I approached the entrance to the library I could see two figures clumped together on the ground. I heard one of them quietly moaning. As I got closer I could tell the moaning figure was Goyle (Atzy), a third year Slytherin. The second figure was a partially dissembled statue of armor violently thrusted over Goyle. Goyle will be alright. From what I could tell, the attack was not meant to kill. Instead the attacker fired a powerful memory charm. Goyle has been sent off to St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries where he will live out the rest of his life with no recollection of his past.

As I headed through the library, I could see one more figure in the distance. A third year Gryffindor, Rubeus Hagrid (Rotaretilbo), was found sprawled over rug before the forbidden section of the library. A fellow Gryffindor confirmed that Hagrid headed down to the library after hours to read up on acromantulas which was not a rare hobby for the curious student. Hagrid was found to have played no part in any of the recent attacks. One of the portraits overlooking the library was able to recount the story of Goyle confronting Hagrid a mere matter of minutes before they were both found dead. Goyle has been found guilty of the attacks at Hogwarts and is a confirmed death-eater, or follower of the Heir, Tom Marvolo Riddle.

February 5, 1943. 22:15
In another chaotic series of events, the students and faculty at Hogwarts have now targeted a fifth-year Slytherin, Tom Marvolo Riddle (The RedusZebrus). With the help of our potions master and permission of the ministry in this crisis, I was able to drip the portions of the veritaserum vial into the struggling Riddle’s mouth. I knew at once that we had caught our culprit, the heir of Slytherin. Riddle, who at this point, was calling himself “Lord Voldemort” admitted to unleashing the beast on various students at Hogwarts. I could get no more information out of him. I assume Riddle gulped down a self-made forgetfulness potion immediately after hearing his name pop up for interrogation. However, we have merely won a battle in this war. We are sure that Tom Riddle recruited followers with the same intentions in mind. We must now concentrate on finding his followers, or “death-eaters” as he likes to call them. Riddle has been handed over to Azkaban.

February 5, 1943. 9:25
After a relatively quiet night, another student had been found dead. This time, near the astronomy tower. The student, Dedalus Diggle (Mighty), was a first year Ravenclaw. Similar as the case with Sir Cadogan, no physical damage could be detected on his body. He would have looked perfectly peaceful if not for the faint look of shock on his face. If we can be sure of one thing it is that Diggle played no role in the deaths of Sir Cadogan and Myrtle.

February 4, 20:30 - No lynch

February 4, 1943. 10:00
It is one thing to attack a person but to attack a portrait... The Gryffindor ghost, Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington, has discovered the fallen knight, Sir Cadogan’s (Aeneas), portrait. Only a pile of armor remains where Sir Cadogan once stood bravely overlooking the seventh floor. No physical harm had been done to the portrait – only Sir Cadogan suffered from the attack. Since his painting was added to the walls in 1790, Sir Cadogan has been genuinely true to Hogwarts. Several of the surrounding portraits were able to verify his claim to watching the halls for trouble makers late into the nights.

Students and faculty, let us remember to keep those we love close and those we fear closer in these dark times. Only through great cooperation will we be able to discover the Heir before Hogwarts is closed down.

February 3, 1943. 21:45
During the chaos involved in searching out the Heir, Algie Longbottom (blatant7), a fifth-year Ravenclaw, was convicted of assisting in the opening of the Chamber of Secrets. I, and other members of the faculty, escorted Longbottom to Azkaban earlier this day. Algie Longbottom was to receive the dementor’s kiss for the crime. A mere fifteen minutes ago, one of our house elves discovered evidence of Longbottom’s innocence while moving his bags out of the Ravenclaw common room. Longbottom is no more a supporter of the dark arts than myself. However, it is too late to save the boy.

February 2, 1943.
It is with great sorrow that I am here to announce a tragic accident within the school. A girl, Myrtle, has been found dead in the girls' bathroom on the second floor. I am afraid that the rumors of the Chamber of Secrets are true. According to legend, Salazar Slytherin, himself, created the chamber shortly before he left the school in order to rid Hogwarts of all "muggle-borns". Only the heir of Slytherin would be able to discover and open the chamber to release the beast inside. Although the staff of Hogwarts past and present have searched for the chamber, it has believed to have been unopened... until now.

Unfortunately, it is no longer safe for students at Hogwarts. Unless our professors can discover the chamber and the "Heir of Slytherin", students will have to be sent home before the end of year exams.
