Basics

Please submit your email address to sign up. The game board was designed by me to hold up to ten people. We will not exceed that number for functionality purposes. The game will be played in Real-Time versus Turn-Based. Basically, depending on the phase, all players will email me their moves within a certain deadline, and then I will update the map.

Reinforcements:

1.

Rules:

Reinforcement Phase: Each player receives one unit for each country he or she owns, plus any continent bonuses. The player can then place any number of units on any country the player owns.

Attack Phase: The player can attack any bordering countries from his or her own countries, but must leave 1 unit behind to retain ownership of the country the player is attacking from. All of the players' attacks will occur at the same time, so the player only gets one invasion, in which the player predicts one country he will take and then places an attack from it to another enemy country before the attacks are rolled and the results known. If the player predicts wrong, the invasion does not occur. Each country involved in an attack gets one six sided die. The attackers always work as a team, and take one unit from the defender for every roll above the defender's roll. If the defender's roll is higher than all attackers, the attackers each lose one unit. In the event of a tied roll, the defender has the advantage. In Border Clashes and Spoils of War, there is no advantage.

Tactical Move Phase: The player gets to choose one country with more than one unit on it, and then can send as many units to any neighboring countries owned by the player. The player can send units to multiple countries from one source, but cannot send units to one country from multiple sources.

Do we get our starting territories allotted randomly? If that happens, is there any chance of two people getting territories which share a border?

Actually, what you guys do is send me an excel sheet with all the countries in order from the ones you want most at the top to the ones you want least at the bottom. I'll then randomize the sign ups list and whoever is at the top gets first pick, and so forth.

Same goes for color. When I get home, I'll post a list of possible colors. Order them in excel from what you want most at the top to least at the bottom. I'll assign colors and countries when I have everyone's in.

And feel free to go ahead and send me your country list now and color list after I post them.

EDIT: Also, do you guys want a close up of the Minas Tirith to Minas Morgul area or can you guys see it fine?

That's basically what I want. Order all the countries from most wanted to least wanted and email them to me in excel.
And I do need it in excel because I need excel to sort out who gets what.

Sure. Dark Red is now Teal while Dark Green is Pink.

Yah, also can't really tell where one Continent begins and where the other ends. Many of the countries also have similar colors....

Also, guys, based on the color you get, I'll assign you a nation of Middle-Earth. Pink will be counted as dark green since I can't think of any races of Middle-Earth corresponding to pink. I'll use your nation as flavor in my write ups.

Sorry about the delay with the new map, though. After I finished yesterday, I accidentally copied over it and had to redo it. Just typing up the country list now, though.

And how do you guys want me to make the continents stand out more?

And I'll do a larger map of the Gondor+Rohan areas and the Arnor area, since those have small countries.

New Rules

The Neutral Territories

Moria, Dol Guldur, Orodruin, Barad-D�r, and the Morannon start as neutral territories. They will have some reinforcements in them already, but will not make attacks. They may be conquered, however.

Chokepoint

Minas Tirith, the Pelennor, and Osgiliath are choke points. Think of that as a barrier between north and south.

If I am attacking from, let's say, South Ithilien, I cannot attack North Ithilien without first posessing Minas Tirith, the Pelennor, and Osgiliath.

Similarly, if I'm attacking from North Ithilien, I can take Minas Morgul and Cirith Ungol and into Mordor from there, but I cannot take South Ithilien from North Ithilien or Minas Morgul without first posessing Minas Tirith, Osgiliath, and the Pelennor.

If I possess one of them, I still cannot attack South Ithilien from it. So if I take Pelennor, attacking from North Ithilien, I cannot attack South Ithilien from the Pelennor because Minas Tirith and Osgiliath are still a chokepoint.

To balance this, Minas Tirith, Osgiliath, and the Pelennor will also start as neutral territories.

You may include the neutral territories in your lists but I will NOT include them when factoring in your starting countries.

I've added the larger version the Gondor/Rohan area. All reinforcements for Gondor/Rohan will appear on that map as well.
