Intoduction
------------
My mod isnt a total conversion, its move of a exspansion pack, its half way to what could be bfme3 hence the name bfme2.5 .
These first 2 versions add bits and peices, but my next version will start adding factions, so be sure to keep an eye open for them.

Installation
------------
Copy the bfme2.5.big into
C:\Documents and Settings\Tom\Application Data\My Battle for Middle-earth(tm) II Files
(note this may be hidden)
Run the sortcut.

Please note if you installed battle for middle earth 2 somewhere diferent to the default path
"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-earth (tm) II"
you will have to open properties of the shortcut, and change the start it box to where you installed, for example it might look like this
"E:\Games\Battle for middle earth 2"

Then change the the first part of the target box
("C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-earth (tm) II")
To where you installed bfme2. So it would look like this
"E:\Games\Battle for middle earth 2" -mod bfme2.5.big

just make sure you dont remove the command at the end.

Arcnon I get an error:

An upgrade mask references Upgrade_dunlandtentlevel2, which is not an Upgrade

Error parsing field 'TriggeredBy' in block 'Object' in file 'data\ini\object\evilfaction\structures\isengard\dunlandtent.ini',

......

Can you fix this?

the mod has been released for awhile now, (i just never posted it here) it works for everyone else but you. So it could be one of the following.

Do u have oatch 1.04 installed?
did u install onto an unmodded version of the game?
did you put the bfme2.5.big in the "my battle for middle earth folder 2" folder?
thanbear I installed the mod according to the instructions, but it crashes on load. I get the splash screen and then a game.dat error.

bfme2.5.big is in My BFME2 folder and the shortcut path is "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-earth (tm) II\lotrbfme2.exe" -mod bfme2.5.big

Suggestions?

check the following

Do u have patch 1.04 installed?
did u install onto an unmodded version of the game?

if its none of them i have no idea, it definitly works, its been released for awhile.
thanbear I figured it out. The -mod command doesn't seem to work as advertised by EA. So I just put the .big file in the regular BFME2 folder (in Program Files) and then I ran the regular shortcut for the game. I guess it loads all of the .big files, including the mod, so then it all works just fine. Thanks

the -mod command does work, but if u got it to work anouther way then fine, but cant help u if there r bugs, as it will work diferently when put in the main bfme2 folder.

Got a few suggestions though.

There is a bug with the elven create a hero. If he has the toggle wepon power, he dosn't shoot his bow properly, he shoots his sword at the enemy.

The create a hero could be improved dramaticly by adding more wepons and armor to all the races.
Or... making all the diffrent types of armor avadible to all the races not just certain ones.

As you said you adding some new factions i think you should split up gondor,rohan and mordor and the haradrim.

Just a few ideas great mod so far though :) ;)

Varanus_Sapiens This is an excellent mod, and I enjoy the new units as well as player colors, but when playing a custom map using the auto-generated mini map, as black, you cannot see yourself on lowland areas, but in multi-player, it could be quite useful (if you know the map well). I hope you do create some new factions as was suggested previously.
Varanus_Sapiens Oh, a few suggestions in the ways of improvements. Please see if you can give the Balrog hero a regeneration ability, as well as the ability to gain experience. The dragon needs an experience meter as well. And I think you should make it so that you can build multiple gronds.
