As usual, PLUS!
Please check your mail every time before posting.

It is now Day 1. 5 to lynch.

(I was tempted to swap day and night, since it's the Dark City and there is no daylight... but I decided not to confuse you all )

Meh. I don't much like day starts but I guess with this number of people it may end up better with us starting during the day.

I'm going to go ahead and do some role guessing; I think 3 mafia would be a good bet to go with. A cop, a doc, maybe a backup cop or doc and maybe a vig and then some townies. I haven't played in a Darth game though so I guess it's possible that there's a bunch of special roles.

Why? Here's a reason nobody's used in a while: random.org made me do it. Really.
Although, I can't say I am too disappointed with the result!

(AAARGH, I've lost my post twice now by closing the wrong window!)

Quoted from Adder:

Maybe 3 mafia, but I would tend to go for 2 mafia and an SK... In Willows' seven-player family guy mafia, Ray and I were the two-member mafia. I just think that, in a nine-player game, a three-member mafia may be a bit strong, holding one-third of the day one votes... or what?

BTW, do we have any Dark City experts around, apart from Darth? I have seen the movie but don't remember much except that there was a beach that nobody could get too... and people were falling asleep while driving their cars... oooh, and it was always nighttime... hmmm.... yip, that's about it!

maybe time is frozen in the daytime? certainly seems to be the same time because nothing is happening. Has everybody in this game even posted yet?

Using the conventional 'Day' and 'Night' for Game Phases makes it less confusing.

Also, I wouldn't call myself an expert

I'll jump on the Debs bandwagon because she seems more excited than normal.

Vote: Debbie

Debs, what in the hell was that?!? Not another damned crypto puzzle?

Okay, Debs, I figured out your cryptic message. I'm just not sure if I want to translate it here at this point in time.

Quoted from Ray:

Okay, Debs, I figured out your cryptic message.

If only all cryptic clues were that easy to decipher!

Ok, I won't spill the beans (concerning what role Debbie's claimed), even though even without the cryptogram, those who've played before will know exactly what she's claimed. And, I suspect, even newbies will be able to decipher it.

In anycase, the question is now, what do we do with it? I doubt Debbie would claim like that if she wasn't who she claimed to be (waaaaaay too likely to be counterclaimed). And, given this claim in a seven player game (which I know this is not), apparently the best thing to do is no lynch on day 1... However, we're not sure if we have one or two killing groups for sure yet, and if the latter option is true, that would kinda upset that strategy.

Oh, by the way, UNVOTE DEBBIE.

At this point I will believe Debbie (also deciphered her message).

Quoted from Ovidius:

As far as I know and have seen in other games a no lynch is not a good thing for the town, but I can be mistaken...

Generally, that is true, and if we decide that we will discuss Debbie's claim, then I will reference what I said. But, neither Ray, nor Niempie, nor Debbie herself have spelt out the claim by naming the role, so I won't do it either. Maybe I should ask, who doesn't know what Debbie's claimed?

Me. I'm horrible with that kind of stuff, and lazy too, I imagine it's some kind of substitution thing.

But from what I gather in Ovi's post she claimed what I thought she claimed in the post before this evil code.

I think over half of us know what she claimed.

And where is Street Hobo?
