Quick Miletus, a set of progressive saves to demonstrate simple city-building at Hard difficulty (the default). The only advanced techniques were gatehouses for walker control and multiple blessings from Neptune. No personal funds were used. No festivals were thrown. Nothing was deleted except for trees and parts of the original Road to Rome. There were no patrician houses, so extra buildings made jobs. Prosperity was only 41.
There are 9 saved games:
Brugle-quickMiletus-220BCApr : 1st export and food are being produced. Houses get water.
Brugle-quickMiletus-220BCDec : Exports are sold. Houses are about to get food.
Brugle-quickMiletus-219BCJul : 2nd export and soldiers are being produced. Taxation is about to begin.
Brugle-quickMiletus-218BCApr : 1st block houses are all settled. 2nd housing block is started.
Brugle-quickMiletus-218BCAug : 2nd block houses get food.
Brugle-quickMiletus-217BCApr : 1st block houses are casas and are about to evolve to insulae.
Brugle-quickMiletus-216BCFeb : 3rd block houses get food.
Brugle-quickMiletus-215BCApr : Last vacant lots are placed.
Brugle-quickMiletus : Final city, Aug 213 BC. Stable population in small casas and medium and large insulae.
The final city will run without intervention (letting the Spirit of Mars defeat an invasion) until victory at the end of 211 BC, and will run for an additional 5 years if an invasion is (easily) defeated.
Fish production in my quick Miletus is slightly less than fish consumption. It's not a big deal--no houses run out of food in over 7 years (if the player chooses to govern for 5 more years after victory). But it's easy to fix, by building another wharf (and adjacent prefecture) near the SW map edge on a road extended from the nearby wharf.
Also, a road tile is missing near the SW amphitheater. This is also not a big deal--the amphitheater and nearby colosseum each lack a show, and a school and academy may have less fire protection than I planned. But it's even easier to fix.
Well, I said that most advanced techniques were not used. Maybe that includes being careful.
