Introduction

Here are maps I made of the pit of despair. If you are legit, I recommend doing this place at about level 35, which is the average level for Redwood Gap. The treasure at the end is sort of like a Grescal chest, except you might be able to use the things right away. Then again, from the beginning of the Pit, it’s practically a shorter walk to Grescal than to the end of the Pit, haw haw haw!

Level 1

You need to walk all over this dark, mind-boggling maze to collect the 3 skulls, and open a door to the far south. Two of the skulls are a long walk away from your starting platform, but close to one another, so get them both when you’re in the northern area. There’s a chest you might want to check out, located west of the starting platform.

Level 2

This maze seems larger than it is, and is boring as all hell. Visibility is down to ziltch. So don’t deviate from the correct course because you could get disoriented even with a compass. You’ll be glad you have this picture here!

Four artifacts in the corners need to be placed into the hands of the statues in the center. I believe that each artifact goes into the hands of a particular statue, so save yourself some grief–collect all artifacts, and only then start worrying about getting them to the statues. Having gotten thus far, I’m confident you are able to pick up the ANKH that spawns in the dead center, and bring it to the ANKH DOOR to the north.

Level 3

My maps doesnt help much because this region is a 3d goblin inventor maze. Like the 2d mazes weren’t enough of a problem. You’ll start hitting intersections soon after stepping onto the walkway. Four rights and a left, that’s all you need to know. Otherwise you’ll get blown off-course. There are dozens of other routes you could take, but by this point I wanted to take the quickest! Side note: Umm, there’s an intersection in which you go straight as well… it occurs soon after the first right and I marked it blue. I guess it’s sort of like a fifth right because the only other option is to go left.

From the third level, which is the easiest as long as you remember 4-rights-then-left, you will end up in the regions of LEVEL 1 which looked so close, and were yet so far, far away! Navigate to the end for a Sightless Helm and random high-level loot.
