Is there still a way to format text in the editor (make it bold, give it a different colour, center it, etc.)?

The scenario text has a number of "markup" comands you can use to modify and position the text. These are "unsupported" and not all of these work in all areas. I'll try to post a more detailed tutorial or something later, but this should get you started.

/r# = red #(0..255)
/g# = green #(0..255)
/b# = blue #(0..255)
/o# = opacity #(0..100)
/bk = blink
/fb = bold
/fi = italic
/fu = underline
/ft = strikethrough
/fd = default GEText
/fs = font size
/fc = font clear
/fp = percent font size
/f[Font_Name] = new Font
/fn = normal style
/al = align left
/ar = align right
/ac = align center
/at = align top
/ab = align bottom
/avc = align vertical center
/t[Texture_Name] = GEBitmap
/co = column offset percentage
/cw = column width percentage
/hk#[unique string] = hot key
/np[string] = no parse
// = /

For Example: The instruction text for one of the patton scenarios is something like:

/fp54#1200# /fn
/at/ac/r55/g63/b80/co53/fb/fp28#1200#Chapter 6:
Murder in a Time of War
/fp18#1200# /fn
/fd/al/fb/r63/g72/b50/fp30#1200#/co58/cw37#The Allies secure a precarious foothold in France. Within days, Allied intelligence delivers an urgent message to Patton. A deadly plan is about to be unleashed. Who, or what, is the target?

Oh boy. Now I'm almost sorry I asked, it seems pretty complex.

Thank you a lot Citixen. I don't think I could've figured those out on my own.

That'll be helpful.

I'm making a scenario now, and to be honest, I don't get it. I'm trying to change the font type to Lucia Handwriting, and my message looks something like:

/fLucia Handwriting Still no sign of them.

I tried to use font types that consist of only one word as well, and I've tried to rephrase the coding, but it still doesn't work.

Can you tell me how to correctly plug in these codes? Or, better yet, post a tutorial explaining a few of the functions not covered in the example you showed?

I did some tests. You have to use /f[font name] for the font one. I tried /f[Lucia Handwriting] and it did not work (crash). That font was not on my system (non standard?) But /f[Arial] and /f[Times] worked ok, also /f[Script] worked if that's the look you are going for.

Remember, you have to use the brackets around the name. Also the instructions only appear to show up on the scenario loading screen if the scenario is bundled as a campaign. The /f[fontname] markup does not work in scenario triggered chat messages or dialogs.

Ooh. No wonder it didn't work.

Thank you.

Hi citixen,

thanks. I tested it as scenario opening text.
Works great. Great tip!

I'm trying to figureo ut what in the heck all of this means:

/fp54#1200# /fn
/at/ac/r55/g63/b80/co53/fb/fp28#1200#Chapter 6:
Murder in a Time of War
/fp18#1200# /fn
/fd/al/fb/r63/g72/b50/fp30#1200#/co58/cw37#The Allies secure a precarious foothold in France. Within days, Allied intelligence delivers an urgent message to Patton. A deadly plan is about to be unleashed. Who, or what, is the target?

/fp54#1200# /fn Makes it 4% bigger, but the /fn switches it back?
