Vinci Units

Barracks Units

Musketeer
Population: 2 (9 men)
Role: Vinci Ranged Infantry. Musketeers form the bulk of the Vinci army.
Tactics and Abilities
Fire at Will- The default ranged firing mode of Musketeers.
Volley Fire- Increases the power of Musketeers, but reduces their speed and makes them take more damage from enemy attacks.
Skirmish- This tactic replaces 'Fire at Will' once the Musketeer has been upgraded and grants him increased speed and damage resistance.
Assault- Switches the Musketeers to melee combat mode, increasing their attack, as well as giving them anti-trample capabilities.
Upgrades to: Imperial Musketeer -> Grenadier -> Imperial Grenadier (I'm not so sure about this)

Clockwork Man
Role: Early melee support unit of the Vinci.
Tactics and Abilities

Clockwork Spider
Role: Heavy melee unit. Also capable of attacking aerial units with a small mounted cannon.
Tactics and Abilities
Trample- (Passive) This unit does trample damage to nearby enemies, bowling them over.

Aerodrome Units

Scout Flyer
Role: Speedy Vici aerial scout unit.
Tactics and Abilities:
Gun Drone- Deploys a small Gun Drone to provide light fire.
Upgrades to:

Pirata Flyer
Role: Backbone of the Vinci flying army. A well-rounded unit that is the rough equivalent of the Afreet and the Quetzal Fighter. Tougher than a Quetzal Fighter, but slower, and less powerful. Better against air units than land units.
Tactics and Abilities:
Pirates!: (Passive) You gain resources for each kill this unit makes. (yeah, 'pirates!' isn't actually this passive ability's actual name, I'm just using it as a placeholder because it sounds cool )
Upgrades to:

Support Dirible
Role: Heavily armoured aerial transport unit.
Tactics and Abilities:
Transport: You can load units in the Dirible for transport as well as unload them from it.

Air Destroyer
Role: Heavy aerial siege unit. Capable of firing rockets at ground targets. Good against buildings. Weak against air.
Tactics and Abilities:
[Special Ability]- Temporarily increases damage dealt to ground targets.

Steam Fortress Units

Steam Cannon
Role: Slow, but powerful Vinci artillery.
Tactics and Abilities:
Upgrades to:

Juggernaut
Role: Heavy Vinci tank. Has a ranged attack that is good against land and aerial targets.
Tactics and Abilities:
Trample- (Passive) This unit does trample damage to nearby enemies, bowling them over.
Upgrades to: Ultra-Juggernaut (which, apparently, glow slightly)
Heavy Trample- (Passive) (Ultra Juggernaut) This unit does heavy trample damage to nearby enemies, crushing many smaller units.

Land Leviathan
Role: Vinci master unit. Super-heavy land support unit capable of attacking land and air targets with missiles, and is also armed with drills for close-combat and siege. Good against everything, especially buildings.
Tactics and Abilities:
Repair Cycle- The Land Leviathan repairs itself to its maximum health. (I guess it's not a passive ability?)
Burrow- The Land Leviathan burrows underground, travelling to a target location and then bursting to the surface to suprise the enemy. Location chosen must be in Line of Sight (not hidden by the fog of war).
Devastator- Deals tremendous damage to a single target.
Heavy Trample- (Passive) This unit does heavy trample damage to nearby enemies, crushing many smaller units.

Prototype Factory Units

Zeke (Is Zeke produced here?)
Role: Multi-purpose mech of amazing awesomeness. Its cuteness makes it very resistant to damage.
Tactics and Abilities:
[Normal Mode]- In this tactic, Zeke goes at it with his bare metal fists!
[Scout Mode]- In this tactic, Zeke gains the ability to fly, scouting for you.
[Siege Mode]- In this tactic, Zeke transforms into a siege weapon. Not much else is known about this.
Cute- (Passive) Enemy players are more hesitant to hit the 'attack' button at Zeke.
Tragic Death- (Passive) Upon death, the enemy player's emotions are so stirred with guilt that his ability to play is reduced.

Clockwork Sniper
Role: Clockwork Man armed with a laser sniper arm. Deadly long-range support unit.
Tactics and Abilities:

Doge Statue Units

Doge Guard
Role: Elite Musketeers. Has access to all stances and is 'immune to long term effects of enemy powers and abilities'. Best vs lightly armoured units.
Tactics and Abilities:

Doge Walker
Role: Heavy support unit with a heavy trample and a ranged attack. Can fire while moving.
Tactics and Abilities:

Demolition Clockwork man
Role: Clockwork Men designed to run towards their target and explode, dealing 150 damage. Summoned by Giacomo.
Tactics and Abilities:

I'm kinda attracted to Alin, myself . If we ever 2 vs 2, just defend me while I boom, and I'll tech to Glass Dragon :P.

Not for another 4-5 hours, and once it's done, I'll only get to play for a couple hours before I fly off to London. =P

Doesn't matter though, game doesnt come out until the 6th, so I wont be missing out on too much .

I hate plane rides man.. I had to ride in a plane for 5 hours this morning coming back from Las Vegas and I didn't get a wink of sleep

vinci are my fav civ in the demo. i dont like the research lab upgrade that produces clockwork men automaticly

Yea vinci are cool... Im just learning to be able to really max out my population... Im happy too cuz I worry bout the opposite in other games =)

alin are my favourite so far, but i have to admit that the vinci are so different, especially with the upgradeable research labs and special units (those doge walkers etc.) if you know what to do with em then you can win easy, but i just keep getting distracted trying out all of their stuff, not to mention the borehole, which looks great!

i love the leviathin or how ever you spell it. i just finished a game against the comp and i had so many guys at the end. and the zeke is cool to. it kicks ass
