Topic Subject: Spanish AAR

When thinking about which faction to write my first AAR on, one faction popped up bright in my head. Obviously this was the spanish.

I am playing vanilla RTW on hard/hard difficulty. On large scale, because my comp can't take huge.
fatigue, ammo, morale, etc. are all on.

So lets begin....

Chapter I: Getting ready for War
Im kicking off my campaign by raising taxes in my first four cities to as high as they will go and citizens will still be happy.

Next I built some roads so my armies can get around.

One turn later I decided to get a trade deal with carthage.... they happily accepted.

I give it a few turns build some farms and temples, and now im economically set for the most part. And that means its time for War!!!

Chapter II: The Iberian Penninsula, Part I:Carthage
I'm stuck in this penninsula with 2 other factions, the Carthage and the Gauls. This is a problem I'll have to fix now! I choose to take the Carthage down first as they have less chance of retaliating against me since they do not have any other cities near by.

My faction heir is going to be the one to take the city since he has the highest command. I formed a capable army and marched toward Corduba.

My heir was well on his way to Corduba untill he stopped at the bridge near Corduba; We were ambushed by Rebels....

I set my men up on the bridge

They charged across with fanatics up front. By the time the fanatics reached my mercenaries they were already routing from all the missle fire they took. They where then followed by some peasents whom I easly routed as well. I then charged through the rest of their units with my cavalry and won the battle with no trouble.

Now it is time to take Corduba.

The battle was easily in my favor considering they only had 80 men. Obviously, I broke through the gates first, and then went onward toward the center of the city. I wiped out all of their troops and Corduba was mine.

I exterminated the town left 2 units in it and took the rest to assualt the Gauls (in the next 5 turns the carthage don't send anything back, but who knows if or when they will make a suprise visit from Palma)

Chapter II: The Iberian Penninsula, Part II: A Heroic Defeat
My faction heir, army and all soon besieged Numantia. I had a spy there and he opened the gates for us. The odds were clearly on their side, but who cares its just a few warbands right?

My men charge through the gate and take the first warbands down with ease.

My men continued there blood thirsty charge to the city square, untill we encounter some cavalry on our way, but they shouldn't be any problem.

It was going good at first, I killed the enemy general and we eventually reached the city square, but my men were tired and exhausted. A few warbands pushed us back to the hill were we tried to push our way back up. Only to get most of my men routed and my Faction heir killed (I even got a great picture of it, sadly).

http://s303.photobucket.com/albums/nn127/quagnatious/?action=view¤t=Image_49.jpg

Then I pulled a miracle or so I thought. I had about 50 slingers left and that was it. A full warband came charging at them and they some how drove them back and now I had the odds on my side.

http://s303.photobucket.com/albums/nn127/quagnatious/?action=view¤t=Image_53.jpg

I then thought I had the battle won; they had 1 skirmisher, 1 warband soldier, and 6 light cavalry, and I still had all of my slingers. Suddenly my slingers ran out of ammo, my only opption was to charge the town square. So my slingers charged (right to their death) we killed no one in the hand to hand combat and my army was defeated.

Chapter II:The Iberian Penninsula, Part III: For thy Brother.
My former faction heir's brother now became the new faction heir. Thus I choose him to lead the second assualt on Numantia. This time it was no contest it was a complete slaughter and Numantia was mine and not only that the whole Iberian Penninsula was now mine and who knows where I'll go next (In all reality, probabley Palma).

That's how you do it. You're using the wrong links.

so, I use [Image URL not allowed: img]? I was just using [Image URL not allowed: img%20url], so this would explain why they didn't turn up when i put them like that
Ill edit it next chance I get but i doubt that will be soon, because I'm going to Florida on vacation for the next 5 days.
