When i press load game it starts to load then goes back to the main menu.

Did you mod or edit the game files?

Also, I believe updating to patch v1.3 makes your previous saves unavailable.

No i don't have any mod or anything like that and i don't know if I have that patch or not.

I just downlaoded the patch and my saves are still there they just won't load.

If you have "updated" to the 1.3 patch, your 1.0 - 1.2 saves will not run. The saves are intact, and will still run on a 1.2 patched game, however.
