Ever in the battlefield when the general sounds the withdrawn the troups return to the camp without losing units..but in rome total war when units withdraw themeselves
reduce their number after the battle...is there a way to make troups withdraw themeselves without losses?

Doubt it, that would make it less realistic. Try and imagine your a foot soldier on a battle field running away while there are enemy cavalry behind you...

But when you decide to leave beattle for some reason and you click the 'withdraw' button, your units will run away and even if there aren't enemies fighting you, your troups won't be saved entirely. Try playing a battle in campaign mode, for example, with a cavalry unit versus an hoplite unit and sound the withdraw...you'll see that your knights will show losses.

Maybe they trip up or something, i don't relaly know. But with two infantry armies, the enemy may have slightly faster running men as i sometimes find.

Hmmm.... would be interesting if it was possible for desertions to take place and then lead to small rebellions (or maybe large ones), makes it more challenging to fight your own men of equal skill to other cultures.

Or you could wait till they rout.
