Ok, so I just got the game about 5 days ago and the first faction I played as were the Saxons. Why? I just love the idea for role play purposes. Anyways, I put it on med/med because I heard the hordes can make BI a nightmare and I didn't want to get beat down too badly my first time. It turns out I absolutely demolished the game. Seriously, I have never won a game so fast before in my life. So I was all excited and decided I wanted to play a horde group because my saxons (much to my suprise) wiped the floor with the vandals and the sarmations and never lost a single province, even when I spread myself too thin. So I started a campaign with the Huns. I started by sacking the little town right next to me and made some cash and lost like 100 troops and I was feeling good. Then I went south and sacked the Roloxani (sp?). I lost a few troops but I was high on life. I then went west and sacked the sarmations and then headed to the goths. I lost a suprising number of troops by then so I decided to make a home for myself. I took the goth capital and to my suprise started with 0% happiness. I filled the city with troops and still 0% happiness. I sent the rest of my troops to occupy the rebel city to the west and I immediately started building a town hall for the old goth capital but the peasants revolted and all was lost. So I started over on easy/easy figuring maybe my problem was it was on hard/hard and the same thing happened! For the life of me I can not figure out how to keep the town that I first settle into because I start with 0% happinedd and even on low taxes after 3 rounds it's hardly above 20%, any ideas? I don't see how the Huns are possibly rated as easy but oh well. They were so much fun too.
