I found out how to make a map playable in the siege menu instead of a war custom. How you do is make a castle (duh) and make every thing belong to the human lord. add human lord's troops and then add troops belonging to 'The Bull' (You must add siege units here to) then save and exit out of stronghold 2. Now go to your maps folder and change you map file from s2m to a s2c Then open stronghold 2 again. Your map can now be played as attack or defence in the siege menu!
Hope you all enjoy this little trick and twas helpful to someone.

Ooo! a new way to lock up my SH game, lol. I must have done something wrong. I converted an old war map and the game locks up. Not the freeze I was having earlier today though with another SH2 issue.

I will start fresh.

It locked up? Hmm I'll try and look into what happened. Maybe we're use different versions? I have 1.4.1

I am running 1.3.1 at the moment. Have you done large and small maps? Do you place Keeps and Keep Flags. You make them originally as Custom War maps?

I checked out Urquheart and it was the same for me, blank green map and ye olde lock. I have a felling I'll be updating to 1.4.1 soon.

Updated to 1.4.1 and it works great. Awesome.

It appears you can place .s2c maps in My Document or the game maps folder and they will work.

how do you change it from S2M to S2C?

Right click the file in your My Documents\Stronghold 2\maps folder and choose 'Rename' then change "Map Name.s2m" to "Map Name.s2c" manually with thy keyboard.

You can send me your map if you want, it's hard to guess what could be wrong. Have you d/l'ed Russano's Map to see an example? Is your game fully patched?
