Basically the challenge is to get a settlement going while wolves pester you. Thus the start is slow, because wolves constantly set you back. Because the map is large with abundant resources spread apart, you have a variety of options, i.e. strategies, for getting up and running. Like most beginner designs, there are too many options, i.e. you can build or trade anything, so it's not very realistic. The map is nice, but unremarkable. So, on the whole, a pretty average scenario with little spice.

While this map starts off being a challenge, it loses much of that challenge in the first year. There should be building restrictions, and make restrictions. The good thing is that, with a little work, this mission could evolve from an okay mission, into a really great one. Limit the buildings that can be used, and add some more negative events. This is a great start, it just needs to be worked through a little more. - Dianna

Not easy to choose where to site the keep in this land full of wolves and bears. Few initial bows can be used, and the archers will work wonders in slaughtering many of animals.
Then the mission is so easy that one can play it with very low a population.
"Mountains Tops" is the far more exciting version.
