Hello there! Welcome the Mod Central, after a request by someone in website comments, and me noticing a lot of people not knowing where things are, i decided to right a some topic linking to many useful topics/programs for the community. I'll try to update this frequently when new things are released, but Im sure you will find this a great use .
This guide was the first major guide to modding SWGB. Sadly, the pictures and links have disappeared, as when wok quite the images where not re-hosted, so the guide has gone into disrepair. However, The text inside may be of some use to you.
This guide was again wrote by wok, however the images lost there host and have sadly gone. However, the text might be useful until another guide is written which includes the same content, which Im currently working on at the moment. So, not to fear.
A while back, when i noticed Woks guides images had disappeared, and i thought a different style might help the community, so i wrote this. I've been told its been quite useful, and I'm writing Part 2 at the moment. Should be worth checking out.
I wrote this quite recently. Its a guide on how to work a successful total conversion, the various stages involved ect. Should be Useful to the modders of the community who want to attempt such a project.
A neat guide which teaches how to cut/copy/paste from game graphics already in existance, and to make them into new fully fledged works of art. Good guide!
If you have any of the poser series, but are not quite sure on how to use it, this is a guide for you. The first in a series which sadly never was completed, but a good guide nevertheless.
This was the second in the series, giving you advice on the proper method of attaching clothing, objects and Hair to your mesh. Very useful if you have the Poser tool.
The third of the trio, coloring your figures (i.e. Skin tone) and your objects. Useful only if you have the tool poser or are considering buying it.
A very good guide to getting you on your way in 3d modeling with Wings. Recommended if your going to make any of your mods in a 3d editor.
If your thinking of going into the world of genie editing, this is a must have guide for you! It teaches the basics of the program, as well as giving you some very useful tips. A great guide written by Mace.
The more interesting and fun side of Genie editing in my opinion, though i would advise reading "Genie Editing Guide" first, otherwise you may find this a little complex. It teaches how to do Graphical editing, in the genie code!
You should have hopefully already read this, as it tells you what you can and can not do within these forums, if you havent go and read this straight away, to save further problems in the future.
A great listing of all discovered unknowns for Genie Ed. I advise, if your a genie editor, to read this! Great advancement in the world of genie editing was made here.
I wrote this when the forums where closed for a day
This is one of the most useful guides ive been lucky enough to discover. Teaching you things in paint you never thought you would know, its a great asset to the community. Good show Brownboot!
This thread is for posting all your queries about Modding in, thats if its not already answered in Mod Frequently Asked Questions! So make sure to check there first.
This is the most recent version of the Mod Installer, the code was wrote by Mace and Ykkrosh. A definite must have for anyone who has SWGB and plays it.
This is the most recent, and probably last version of the Mod Editor. Sadly none of the mod tools are compliant with Mac software, but maybe some kind hearted soul will come along and code it again for Mac, though i highly doubt it. To use this, you will need to have the DRS Viewer.
This is the DRS viewer, it allows you to extract SLPS from the DRS files, a must have if you are going to go into the world of modding SWGB.
The original Genie Editor! Probably one of the most useful and complicated tools ever wrote by ykkrosh. A definate must have if your a coder and looking to mod for SWGB.
Yes people, it does actually exist! Ykkrosh decided not to host it at SWGBH, but to but it at another website. So, here you are, the mysterious GeniEd2.
This handy little tool allows you to delve into the language.dll files and edit the names of various things, including units. Another superb edition to the list.
The last Making of the Mods guide by invertix, a good resource for anyone looking to get into the 3d Work profession, as well as fun to look at. Good going Invertix.
The third guide written by Invertix, explaining the proper way to model an ATXT. Good resource for 3d Modellers.
This was the second guide, which taught you how to make a Jedi Tank in a 3d tool. Again another great small guide by Invertix.
This is a small little guide by Invertix, explaining how he made Ventress's Ship model. A good resource for anyone looking to get into 3d work.
Well, so we come to the end. Tell me when you find something new, and i'll add it in if i think its worthy. So, until then, toodles!
