RUSHES

A rush is any kind of attack before an enemy is ready to fight. It can be as early as T1 or as late as T4. Here are some of there name and what they do. These are not guides. Some of these have been converted from AoK. I will also say the AoK name because it is commonly used.

T1 TR rush- Tech Level 1 trooper recruit rush. (self-explanatory)
T1 MT rush- Tech Level 1 Mounted trooper Rush (self explanatory)
Douche- Rush where a player deletes his CC and replaces it either in the enemy's town or on the enemy's main ore. (you gotta try it)
Drush- term converted from AoK meaning dark age rush. Any kind of T1 rush
T2 TR- tech level 2 trooper rush (self explanatory)
T2 MT- tech level 2 mounted trooper or heavy mounted trooper rush (self explanatory)
Turret rush- where a player plants turrets all over an enemy's town
Flush- term converted from AoK meaning feudal rush. Any rush in tech level 2
T3 HT rush- tech level 3 heavy trooper rush (self explanatory)
Air rush- where air units attack an enemy's town
pummel drop- where a player loads a transport with pummels and other supporting units an lands them infront of the opponents CC to destroy it.
T3 MT rush- tech level 3 mounted trooper rush (self explanatory)
fortress drop- where a player builds a frtress just outside or in the enemy's town. a.k.a.- castle drop
crush- term converted from AoK meaning castle age rush. Any t3 rush
boom- to go to T3 and make a very good economy with lots of workers by creating multiple CC's
turtle- to stay in a tech level and get prepared for an attack.

This took a very long time to make, sorry if there are mistakes, i will improve on this later. I hope this helps. You will notice that many are the same. You must know what someone is talking about to find out which abbreviation to use. Some of these are hardly ever used. Some are more common.

Impressive list. May I suggest that you put frequently used ones (such as T2 or FU rather than PFC or HDBDM) in bold so it is clear what to expect and what not?

Not all old men in ragged coats are bad old men; some are bone-and-bottle men, and have little dogs of their own, some are gardeners, and a few, a very few, are wizards prowling around on a holiday looking for something to do.

Thats pretty dumb.

AAT is a mech.

Zerk?wtf?Great.Ok i can accept the AOE/AOK fanatics thinking that "hey this game uses AOE engine,i must use AOE/AOK terms!" but STARCRAFT?!

did i mention that if someone actually used a few normal terms, like "jk" as "just joking",people who REALLY follow this list to the letter, would be going "wtf are you talking about.i dont see a <unit name> anywhere" or maybe "hey watch those FFs" and someone else goes "wtf?im not friendly firing on you jackass"

I mean some normal terms, like short forms for the civs, that i can understand. But creating a list of abbreviations, that AOK or whatever game players that are your friends,or have played with you, then saying "this are THE abbreviations.Anything else that has the same letters but a different meaning is fake".I mean......cmon.......

Great job BB!! This is a very nice job.

Ian....
May I take a guess at your skill level on the zone? Are you somewhere in the rook category or lower? I know that when I'm in a game, I NEVER have time to type out, "My enemy just advanced to Tech Level 3, can you send help to stop his fighters?" I will type somthing like, "He's T3, can I get air help here?"

Sure, I'll grant you that probably half of BB's abbreviations will not be used in a game, but even he said that. He didn't put this list here claiming that anyone else who uses different abbreviations is a fake. He posted this here for the good of all of those who read it. You don't have to use his abbreviations, but I find it offensive that you go out of your way to insult his hard work. I can only imagine how much time this took. Nice job BB!

Actually Ian, Zerk was the term used for Viking Beserkers in AOK. You will find that many AOK terms are used by SWGB players without them even realising it. I believe what BB838 is doing is much more useful and appreciated than jumping about and attacking anything not related to scenarios.

Thanks BB838, very comprehensive If I might make a suggestion, it could prove helpful to add to the top an alphabetised short list of around 20 of the most commonly used terms that tend to pop up frequently on the Zone and the forums (such as your ones like FFA, FU, DD, boom and even lmao).

One thing, I don't think people use abbreviations for the technologies so much, and definatly not for the FU units. I'd ask for MT - meaning any kind of mounties, cause they all pretty much work the same way. And I agree, I might ask a TF player for AATs, and I don't mean Anti-Air troopers, or Anti-air turrets. AATs are the mech destroyers for the TF. Usually if I wanted anit-air, I'd ask for "AA". I just think your list was a bit TOO comprehensive.

I'm pretty sure Uber is German for Super.
so therefore.. "uber unit" super unit... you're right in the terminology in that its a 'really cool unit' because thats basically what it is, but directly translated im almost positive it means super in German
