Skythe's Basic Economy Strategy
by AU_Skythe

|Recommended map: Random Land map |Recommended Food Amount: At least 5 nerfs and some fish/animals/muja bushes.
|Recommended Civs: Mech-Strong Civs| Recommended Postition: Pocket (Middle)|

Basic Rundown

Tech 1) Make around 25-30 workers, only economy buildings, around first 12 workers food/ next few carbon then some on what you need and nova.

Going Tech 2) Get Farms up, get a power core up in a suitable place of base, manage your workers if it looks like your not going to have the food to go tech 3 earlier.

Tech 2) Make a War Center, Mech Factory, Go Tech 3. If you are forced to wait for the buildings to finish make some workers which should go on nova preferrably.

Going Tech 3) Research Elevation Tracking, Light Plating and primary focusing coils for the mechs, handheld carb extractor and harvesting program for your economy, and if you have around 400+ carbon build a spaceport and research holonet. Spaceport can also be useful to get food+carbon to make mechs T3. Send some workers to mine ore.

Tech 3)Create 5-7 Mechs and send them to an enemy base, kill the command center workers if they have turrets, keep killing workers. Get anti air turrets up. If you have extra food whilst making the mechs get the other upgrades. Back at home make around 5 extra command centers, preferably near nova/ore deposits. Make Some mechs when you have extra resources to defend. Keep Making workers and make a fortress toward the time where you are to go tech 3. Make sure you have a lot of workers (80+). Get other economy Upgrades, make a fort + Heavy Weapons Factory in the middle of the map or as a forward outside enemy base OR help an ally. Go Tech 4

Going Tech 4)Get ALL mech upgrades if you havent already, Make 3+ mech factories at your forward, send all mechs there and keep making them, Make Some AA Mobiles. Keep making wokrers but send them to nova/ore mainly.

Tech 4) Upgrade your mechs to heavy varients, Get Last of the war center upgrades + Advance Redesign and technicians. Research the last economy upgrades before you forget, upgrade to heavy anti air, keep making mechs, make some Assualt Mechs when you have the time. Attack your enemy, kill them. Make Some Unique Units if you want. Kill Everyone.

A c t u a l S t r a t e g y

Straight away: Queue up 4 workers in your command center (Hotkey to do this is h-a-a-a) , Get 2 of your workers to make a prefab shelter each, and your other worker to make an animal nursery. While They are building get your scout to scout around your base in a circle. (Hotkey to do this is by holding SHIFT and right clicking where you want him to go then right clicking without holding shift so he does it while you manage your workers).

Herd all but 1 nerf into your nursery and get all your workers to eat it. After your scout has scouted the loop, get him to do a bigger one, and about another 3 after that then go scouting for the enemies base. Keep an eye on him while you are doing the next part.

Where to put your food processing center

If There are more than 4 muja fruit bushes in your base, put it there, more than 3 fish patches in an ocean make it there, or a good amount of animals, make a worker build a food processing center there. Do not make farms straight away unless it is space mass (which you should still mine the food stockpiles). Now, your 4th worker should be out, queue up some more with your food. All your nerf/bantha-herders should go to mine the food next to the processing center, if there is little in food in supply in that area set some workers to mine carbone earlier than normal. If you cant afford your processing center get a few workers to mine the stranglers (trees around your command center).
KEEP MAKING WORKERS

Once you have about 12 workers getting food, get the next workers who come out to make a carbon processing center and mine carbon. When your almost housed [w](Need more prefabs[/whisper], build them at the sides of your carbon processing center, so they form a small wall. Try build the wall toward your command center but not quite touching it (enough room for a farm). Have around 10 workers on carbon. If you haven't enough mine the trees outside your command center until you do. Make about 10 workers to go to carbon. After that your hunters/fishers/foragers should be finished, get about 4 to make farms, and create around 4 workers and set them to farm. with the next 2 workers make them mine nova, then start advancing to tech 2. If you find your food processing center workers have run out before you have enough carbon for a few farms set them to mine your carbon forest.

While your going tech 2..
manage your workers, check for idle workers, Get a few more workers farming. Get into the habit of checking for idle workers. Get a carbon worker to make a power core in your base, preferrably in range of your carbon or food center. Dont worry about getting rushed unless you know your playing someone good enough/capable of doing it. (if you've entered an inter+ game maybe you should .
Click here to learn more about stopping rushes

It's a good idea to read that guide after you've read this incase you do get rushed in one of your games.
Now that you have reached tech 2 (Hopefully Before around 14 minutes) you should notice you have ALREADY enough food and nova to go tech 3. Typically in tech 2 you dont make any/very little workers because you almost have enough to go tech 3. Get your carbon workers to make a war center and a mech factory. If you dont have enough carbon for this keep mining. When they are both built advance to tech 3. If you have over 800 food and they are still not gonna be made make some workers and send them to carbon.

While Going Tech 3....

Get 3 Upgrades from your war center: Elevation Tracking light plating and primary focusing coils. These will aid you in your mech attack you will pull off in tech 3 by strengthening them.
Once you hit tech 3 Queue up 4 or 5 mechs. If you have enough food make some workers and research the other upgrades to your mechs (Medium Plating, External Sensor Pod and cooling sleeves) in the war center. Right click the rally point in your mech factory until all your mechs are ready (so if the enemy scout comes past he dosent see them).

When your ready to attack...

(Make an anti-air turret...)When they are all ready and your hopefully getting the other mech upgrades, send them to your enemy base. Kill as many workers as you can. This is your primary objective of this attack or raid as most people like to refer to it as.

Begin by attacking their command center workers (farmers) as this is often the most unprotected place from mechs as the command center does very little damage to mechs and if you hit their carbon workers first their food workers are free to garrison. Once he has rung the bell/ all the workers are dead around his command center, move them off to his carbon workers, try to avoid turrets but if they are there still kill as many workers as you can.(move your mechs under any turrets so they cant hit them) Genrally your mechs should be dead now, but killed a lot of workers breaking your enemies economy putting you in favour. If they are still alive, pick off as many workers in his base as you can until they do die. If you kill all his workers or they are garrisoned send your mechs away and wait for him to ungarrison and attack again.

Meanwhile - Time to "Boom"...

At your base, KEEP MAKING WORKERS.

Quote:

The Idea of booming is to sustain a lot of (un-idle) workers. Keep clicking the idle worker button every now and then and free up the idles.

Get The other economy Upgrades for Food and carbon. Get some workers to mine ore if you havent already, get 1 anti air turret next to your command center.

Now this is the major part of your game, the thing that speeds the boom up, the thing that makes the boom the boom. Make an extra command center next to a big source of carbon which is close to your base. KEEP MAKING WORKERS!!! When you have amassed another 275 carbon and 100 ore Create Yet Another command center next to a forest and keep creating workers to mine off the carbon. Make around another 3 command centers, 1 of these in the open so you can make lots of farms, and the others next to carbon /with ore and nova nearby supplies. KEEP MAKING WORKERS! Try pressing H-a-a-a-a H-a-a-a-a(etc, which will cycle through your command centers and create 4 workers(or however many times you press a). Balance your workers onto the resources you need (Particulary FOOD AND CARBON), if you have lots of carbon, get some carbon workers to make Farms around the command center. KEEP MAKING WORKERS! Make some mechs to defend your base now if necissary. Make sure your base is relativly Well protected from air (a few anti air turrets, 1 per a command center is good). KEEP QUEUEING UP WORKERS!
Now that you have at least 70 workers, KEEP MAKING WORKERS. Set new ones to nova so you have around 10 nova workers.
Also set new ones to ore. KEEP MAKING WORKERS.

------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------

Now you must make a decision depending on your race, of your tech 4 army. Heres a good idea of a tech-4 army for each race:

Wookies: Mass Repeater Troops with Cannons or artillery, some mech destroyers to counter strike mechs, and an airforce if you have spare nova.

Galactic Empire: Mech Destroyers, about 4 assualt mechs, if your enemy is using troops, strike mechs, some hvy anti-air mobiles.

Republic: Make like 6 troop centers near the enemies base, Some mech destroyers, cannons. If you've got spare nova, some jedi or air.

Confederacy: Troops, Mech Destroyers, cannons or artillery. Keep some warriors handy in-case your enemy uses troops and forgets anti-air.

Rebel Alliance: Mass Troops with some jedi masters and a bit of air, an air cruiser perhaps, or some cannons. Mechs are also useful if he has strike mechs, and if it comes to it make some assault mechs too.

Royal Naboo: Strike Mechs and royal crusaders are good, royal crusader kills enemy mechs/mech destroyers while strikes kill troops. Have 2-4 cannons for building destroying and if you've got spare nova some air or jedi.

Trade Federation: A mixture of A LOT of mechs, some anti-air, cannons and destroyer droids if you have excess nova.

Gungans: Repeater Troopers with mech destroyers/cannons or An all-mech force (with some cannons perhaps). Make a mobile sheild Generator or 2 to shield your army.

------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------

If your civilisation has acess to repeater troopers it will typically mean they have good troops, if they have access to good mechs you should choose that over troops preferablly.

Troops work well FULLY UPGRADED with cannons and artillery (if your civilisation has good artillery).

Mechs work good FULLY UPGRADE Mixed together, with mech destroyers, strike mechs and assualt mechs and also anti air. KEEP MAKING WORKERS.
------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------

Now:

* Go Tech 4
* Make sure you have at least 100 workers, 50 farmers, 50 carbon workers, 10/10 nova and ore
* Research all the economy upgrades and upgraded + optimized motivator
* Start making that army. Get a fort up outside the enemy base and research all the war center upgrades for it, plus the mech factory or troop center upgrades. Make about 4 Mech factory/Troop centers (or mech factories if your not using troops, vise-versa)
*Make a forward fort or one in the center of the map, put up a fort outside his base, (2 if your naboo for the crusaders)this should probably be near the mech-troop centers. Also make 1 or more of the other unit class buildings that your using in your attack (anti-air mobiles, artillery, air etc).
* Once your tech 4 get the last of the economy upgrades, all war center upgrades for your unit class and the essential ones for the troops or mechs. Also if you using air/jedi get the vital ones (Shielding, Better conversion etc)

* Also Get Efficient Manufacturing, Found at the fortress, Efficient Buildings, Found at the power core AND if you are using troops Droid Assasaints. if you are republic also make sure you have kamiokean cloners. Keep producing your army and eventuially begin the attack, with your building destroying units (ie cannons, assualt mechs, artilleru, air cruisers) Demolish the rest of his base, kill whatever comes at you using your mechs and troops. If it looks like its going to be a long battle, Send some mechs or troops to raid his town and kill his workers (this time were talking like 15 strike mechs or 40 troops).

|What to Aim For When you try this strategy|
|Do a 12 or below tech 2 with around 26 workers
|Do a 17 minute Tech 3 or below
|Get all the mech upgrades+irrigation and handheld carb extractor while going Tech 3|
|Kill most of Your enemies workers with your mechs
|Go Tech 4 At about 35-45 minutes with at least 80 workers, keep making workers until you have around 125|
|Kill the enemy pocket player then his allies and win!|
