Here are the player positions in a 4 vs 4 Game.
Player positions matter quite a lot in RM Games. Here is a rundown of the positions and what sort of stuff you should be expected to be attacked by:
Is it close to your base? If he has a troop center and power core, your going to be rushed of course so get your own troop centers and power cores up. Start making troops of your own if it looks like he will rush you soon. The best thing to do, is as soon as you've scouted your enemy wing when you are wing, see if his base is quite close to your. If it is at (even at least not that close but not really far).. it is a good idea to rush him. Go a bit heavier on carbon, but not too much and throw up a power core and troop center when you can. Once you start going tech 2 queue your first recruit and if you have or are about to get enough carbon for another troop center, make it! Make sure your power core is walled with light walls, protected from mounties. When you get to tech 2 you should have quite a few recruits. Upgrade to trooper and send them to his carbon and attack his workers. Try avoid command center fire. Also if your wings are being attacked by strike mechs or air make MD's or if you can make anti air send it to help them. Now, After your strike mech or fighter raid its best for a pocket to boom. If you dont know what booming is i suggest you do a author search for AU_Skythe and find Skythe's basic economy strat and read. If you do, yea, boom like crazy, make tons of workers and a few CC's but be aware you may be raided by air or strikes. Keep booming until you have Always make sure your allies are ok, remember whatever you do may directly or indirectly help them, wherether its killing some units that were ment for them or ruining the enemys economy that would of helped them defeat your ally. WING, is the outside of a group of players in a 3 vs 3 or 4 vs 4 game. In a 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2 all players are automatically wings, since there are no players in between them.
A wing player should always expect
Is his carbon at the far end of his base at the other side of his Command Center? Or is it near you, where you wont have to pass the command center.
Does he have a troop center?
Does he have a power core?
A pocket player is located between the allies of your team (he has a player either side of him. A pocket should really never do a major rush, it takes too long for your troops to reach the enemies base and is ushually a waste. Instead the pocket player should go tech 3 relativly fast and make either strike mechs or air. While he's going tech 3 he should upgrade his mechs in the war center if he plans to attack with mechs.
Now, as a pocket player hits tech 2 he should quickly make up a bunch of mechs or fighters (depending on what he wants to use or is best to use) and either
a) An enemies base and kill his workers
b) Help an ally who is under attack, then if his mechs are still alive send them somewhere.
a) Set up base to help an ally
b) Set up base to attack an enemy pocket
c) Set up base to attack an enemy wing whos attacking/being attacked by your ally
d) Help your ally a bit and attack an enemy.
