Also please be aware I don't make my games flavour heavy, so there will be some interesting stuff but don't depend on it being overly long.

Do we need to now who or what the heck Darren Shan is?, I feel like playing but I have no idea on what the theme is.

I read the series for some light reading. Basically, vampires do some vampire stuff and then there's this doomsday thing, and some people die, and this kid is a jackass.

I was disappointed in the lack of character development in the books. Especially for the freak-show characters and the love interest.

I have a feeling that the author actually had no idea how it would end. I mean, it went from this story of betrayal to a whole alien world involving doomsday and a God, and bunch of other ish.

I read somewhere that he had a fairly good idea of how it would go but decided midway that it wasn't working. The main character was supposed to become the evil dark lord or whatever but it wasn't true to the character

The Cirque Du Freak series focuses on betrayal, while Twilight focuses more on romance. The CDF series certainly has romance, but it's so small that I feel the books would be better without it. As far as I remember, he meets the chick, and then she goes away for a while, and then she comes back and she becomes a vampire, and then she dies sometime later.

I read the books years ago, though, so don't expect me to get it all correct.
