All Map Sizes - for Age of Empires II, HD and DE (and their expansion/dlc packs)

This .zip archive contains ALL possible map sizes ranging from 1x1 tile up to the maximum of 480x480 tiles.

Different sized maps cannot be generated in the editor aside from the standard default ones - however this way you can access them, so you can choose the exact map size you want! An essential download for every scenario designer.

There are two directories which have the following scenario's:

1x1 - 255x255 map sizes - These maps work in all versions of the game.

Copy these to your default scenario directory, usually located at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires II\Scenario

256x256 - 480x480 map sizes - These larger maps work in the HD and DE versions of the game ONLY. Note that for these to be playable in the HD version the AI (.per) for each player must be set to "None" or you will get an AI error and the map will not load. This is the only downside/bug afaik. Custom AIs should work, best to try them out and see if they work. On all of these maps the default setting is set to "None" for each player, so the maps will load fine, you won't have to change this each time you pick a map size ;)

They are playable without any AI error in DE.

Copy these to your default Steam scenario directory, usually located at (HD version):
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Age2HD\resources\_common\scenario

or for Definitive Edition:
C:\Users\<username>\Games\Age of Empires 2 DE\<your steam id>\resources\_common\scenario

There have been many uploads to the Blacksmith over the years that have given us a number of different map sizes. Lord Basse gave us Mini and Mega Sized Scenarios, which gave us 25x25, 30x30, 50x50 and 255x255 sized maps, Dantares IV gave us the 10x10 map size, shadow06031992 gave us Ultra Small Map Sizes from 9x9 and below, and Lord_Fadawah gave us the AOE map sizes suitable for AOK.

This Map Size Pack from PhatFish combines all of those files and more giving us every map size that it is possible to have. There are 255 files in the upload, each file is a different map size ranging from 1x1 all the way through to 255x255, the biggest map size that the scenario editor can cope with. This pack is perfect for every design who needs to find the perfect sized map for their scenario. I have played a fair few games on these very tiny maps. One particular example is the Click Challenge by Sword_of_STORM which is built on a 6x6 map. Many top scenarios utilise the 255x255 map as it allows for a scenario of epic scale to be made.

All of the maps open up in the editor, however some may not be playable. The unplayable scenario, which are the ones 6x6 or smaller, can still be opened in the editor and can be used to make some fun screenshots and Age2oons. This utility is simple to use, as all is needed is for them to be placed in the Scenario Folder, and therefore instructions are not really necessary.

Additional Comments:
Overall I believe that this Map Size Pack is a great utility and really helpful for many designers who need to find their perfect map size for their scenario.

Its not working for me. If i try to load some map in editor, i get a CTD always. :(

Is it because im using HD-Version?

Is there a solution maybe?

Alois_SVL, the 1x1 to 255x255 maps have been updated for better compatibility, they should work fine now.

New map sizes for HD and DE are added!
