Do You like to play Age of Empires Online but dont know where ?

After zone.com closed CD-games services, there are some places where we can still play age online.
=========================================
The one which looks like the old zone is Voobly (ex-IGZ):

URL: http://www.voobly.com

-Rating service
-Anti-cheat
-Don't need ip in

To play on Voobly you need to register a name then download and install the lastest version.
==============================================

Game Ranger - got a nice bypass router:

URL: http://www.gameranger.com/

-bypass router

==============================================

Garena - has a lot of players and bypass router.

URL: http://www.garena.com

-most players are from Vietnam and China. Most of them don't speak english and some of them lag. However you find a game easily.

I've noticed that alot of these alternatives require or plan to use third-party patches.

Some of us have been playing IP games. I've had one against Blitz and a few non ladder games against Duan. I've lost all the games.

I posted on the other thread but you can always play IP based games via GTADS http://gtads.blogspot.com.It may not be like Zone but it lets you play other people while only requiring 1 port open. Its currently in Beta Release 1.11 but works with AOE I and II.

I think www.igzones.comis a good server for the community just make sure when you get the client also get the fixer at igz.aoenews.com the fixer will fix the pop the exe file and the patch all at once when you run it. Also make sure you open all the ports in your router and your firewall softwear you can find the instructions at http://www.igzones.com/problems-hosting-and-joining-games.
To get all these you must register first.
Also be aware that all these works on windows XP and not on windows Vista. So if you have windows Vista dont feel frustrated about it, it probably will get fix in the next few years.

Have fun in your gaming.

see you in eso! eso names KingCarlosV, Angelface38, IamCarlos

Hey guys!

As long as you have this topic about servers to play AOE at, I'll mention one.

I'm an administrator for the eWarZone.

We currently have 7 different lobbies for various games, but the most recent addition is an all-in-one lobby to host any DX7 game or earlier. Age of Empires should work here.

A couple great things about the site is that it ad-free and there is no cost to join. Membership is totally free!

All one has to do is download the client ( available at www.ewarzone.com ), select a name and password and enter. Please be sure to enter the Other Games lobby. Note also that when creating a name, there is a little prefix slot that can be changed any time to include clan names (up to 5 characters).

There is a two name per user limit. Names can be reset for good reasons, however.

Don't be discouraged if the lobby is somewhat empty. We are just now starting to get word out about this place and I hope it will fill up fast.

Those who need any assistance in the lobby can look for our admins Golden_Knight, DragonFlames, of myself in the lobby.

Carnifex,
Admin, eWarZone

P.S. A couple other things about eWarZone:

1. Router ports need to be opened. Help can be found here: www.ewarzone.net/page2.html

2. I notice someone mentioned Vista not working for IGZ. eWarZone DOES work with Windows Vista. The only thing that needs to be done is to run eWarZone as administrator, otherwise you must reinstall every time you use it. Other than that, I can't think of any problems Vista users have.

Maybe we can help you out

What error messages (if any) are you getting?
posted 01-21-08 10:55 AM ET (US)     18 / 39
Thank you, but I don't get any error messages, its only that when i'm trying to play with someone, either if i'm the host or my friend is the host, the computers can't find each other's game using any IP (from Hamachi or not), and we've waited for up to 7 minutes for results.

GamePark is an alternative place to play that is free and simple. They require that you have 1.0e. It's not very big right now (peak times has 50-60 people) but it's getting there.

So yeah; http://www.gamepark.eu/en/

Does anyone know if xfire would be useful. I have it and AoE shows up in the list of games.

Mmm, I don't think a lot of people play on Xfire? Besides, most of the better players (and thus the regulars) came from the Zone, and are most likely to have migrated to IGZ (which received a lot of hype when it was launched).

Not sure about that DX I think I saw something about 152 this week down from 256 last week. I'll try find the page I saw again and confirm.

So many?? Last time I went a year ago, there was hardly a soul. Did you mistake the AoK section for AoE's?
