How does it work? All I'm getting is partial shared control of the red-colour Japanese.

If it doesnt work go the scenario editor load up the map and test start the scenario as player 1 and choose preferred difficulty (hard/expert recommended for challenge)

There is a way to permanently fix the 'starting as player 2' issue.
1. Open the scenario in the Scenario Editor
2. In the 'View' tab, click on 'Second Toolbar'
Notice how it says 'Kyoto' in the middle of the second toolbar just opened

3. In the 'Show' tab, click on 'Players'


4. In the 'Player' window you just opened, click on the red circle besides '1'

Notice how it says 'Nobunaga' in the middle of the second tool bar

5. Now, it's done. Remember to 'Save as'.


It would be cool if OP, FlyingManfred, could update this scenario.
