For the cost of one card you can turn spies into a unit with a massive LOS (15 more than a spy), 450HP, 10 hand attack, stealth, 20 siege and 6.25 speed with no unit with a bonus against it for only 125 coin. I thought this seemed like a good idea and would prevent your enemy using mercs completely and I am sure they would kill bows and pikes cost wise.

Thoughts?

Does any civ get both Agents and Assassins card?

Ottomans don't get Agents, but they get Assasins:

Age 3 Level 40
Spies become Assassins, which do more damage to normal units and vastly more damage to War Chiefs, Explorers, and mercenaries.

xpSpy Damage +100%
all damage actions +5X vs Mercenary
all damage actions +5X vs Hero
all damage actions +5X vs MercType1

But at only 150HP it might not be worth it.

Also, I'm pretty sure that a whole bunch of units get a damage bonus against Spies. After all they're classified as "Infantry" and "HandInfantry".

Even with the arsenal upgrade for hand infantry, that's 165HP. But they do 20 damage now, and 15x against Mercs, 25x against Explorers. Holy mother of Kerensky! I just realised that's 300 damage a hit to Mercs!

Oh dear god ...

Yep, now I understand why you can't combine Agents with Assassins.

Sorry noob question, but where do you train spies. I just had my first game with germans on the xpack demo and I can't find them.

The church of all places. What was the thinking with that? They should train from the saloon if anywhere.

Hmm, where can I find someone to assisinate someone for me? At that shady pub in the bad part of town, or the local church?

Actually, if I was a hitman or assasin, I would go to church, after killing a man, I would ask God for forgiveness and confess my sins...

At least once a year you go to a different church so they don't recognize you, and you say

"Father, I have killed men for money, I deeply repent what I have done,"

And then you go kill your next victim...

That's incredible! I haven't checked the stats, but that looks like as much or more than a town center. I may have to put the spy card in my deck, along with the one for agents/assassins.

That, would be sick. But thankfully Spain doesn't get the Agents card. They get the Assassin card instead.

hmmm the idea of agents at a church is wierd... but agent's at a mosqe doesn't exactly seem "politicaly correct" either, same thing with the idea of a saloon for the Ottomans, mabye they should call it a "coffee shop", though that would seem really really wrong from a dutch point of view lol mabye a shisha tent...
agents will be really good scouts, especialy with the stealth. they probably train quite slow though and since you only have one church you can't mass them even if you had the supplies...

well I don't know how it works but its a scented tobacco. Smells really nice. Want to try it sometime, but only once, its quite bad for you.

Anyway the Europeans answer to mercs are spies, what is the natives answer?
