I have been making small adjustments to my game, but i have a question?
How can I add a building (ie. tent) to settler build list? Do I need a UI icon for it?

You'll need to add it to the settler's proto code (just search for the other buildings, copy it and edit accordingly). After that enable the building to the age0 tech in the techtree.

Thanks! I'll try that. But what line do I add to techtree, like the ones with other buildings?

Copy one of those and replace the name of the unit or building you took it from with the protoname of the tent.

It doesnt work, i tried changing some stuff in there but it doesnt show up. I put some lines from the normal house proto, like popcapaddition but it doesnt seem to work. help me please

OK, let's start at the very beginning of adding a building. First you go to protox.xml and copy something like this...

...so you get this:

Change the red pieces into something unique (*), the blue numbers into something above 90000 (**), the blue text to the icon and portrait you want for the tent, and the green one into the tent's art-file.

Then go to stringtablex.xml...

...and change the red pieces into what you entered in **, and the blue ones into the texts you want to appear ingame.

Then go to techtreex.xml, search for Age0[civ]...

...and add your unit's protoname (which is *) where the red piece is now.

Then go back to protox, search for the villager of your choice...

...and add your unit's protoname (which is *) to the list of buildings.

And your done!
