Hmmm.... for me i normally take aztecs instead of maya. Much mroe versitile.

I'm pretty sure the rush is dead. I tried to use mayans to take down a blockhouse and they took forever =/

still works on TC due to lower TC hitpoints.

I think they overnerfed mayans, but what civ did you use? Ottos can have those 10 spearman on your enemies doorstep by 5-5:15 minute mark, easily, followed by the remaining spearmen and shortly after aztec military.

I got maya rush and a simple wall can stop them easier now ^^

yeah, i think pikes have more siege now, and than i can make pikes and x bows.

An otto owned me with this type of rush on sonora.

I cant say i noticed a change in its effectiveness although i manage to age and build some skirms (dutch) but i just couldnt stop them and 5 spearment appeared again as soon as i killed them. And im not goin to blame dutch for my loss as i would probally have done worse with any other civ (no skirms or slower aging)

This is why I love Russians ^^

With Russians, you can get ransack and the siege goes through the roof, even with the nerf. Before the nerf, it was complete insanity.

Not to mention, my strelets/muskets get the boost from ransack as well.

So, Russians get uber mayans if they use Ransack in age 3, everyone else gets nerfed ones

So, I use maya in my rush, go to fort, send ransack, and my opponent's usually dead

You see... they don't suck, but they aren't great neither. They are the second cheapest native, and still seem to be better than Jaguar Warriors and Nootkas.

Now Tupi are the best guys.

i think their near useless now for civs with pikes. btu sicne ottos and russian dotn ahve pieks due tot heir great anti inf,s trelets and abus, they still benefit from mayans and maya+ abus is still near invincible in age 2.

I been playing a lot of otto lately, thats probably why I still think mayans are pretty good.

i think this is great, they are now on par with clubman and sharktooth in terms of cost/siege.
