Regarding to the trojan horse infection of this file, it has been confirmed that that is a FALSE REPORT.

Remember to read Genie Editing Guide by Mace and the help file before testing the program. The interface setting of this beta version has still not yet been modified to suit AoK:TC players, but it could already decompress, read, load and write database file(s) for AoK:TC.

Ignore the error message "Use of uninitialized value in numeric eq <==> at PERL2EXE_STORAGE/UI.pm line 249".

In most cases, deleteing maindata.db in ged_data folder and trying again the decompress-read-write task can solve the problem.

I guess that the project's not completely finished. Before a game comes out, the creators release a beta version to see what bugs there are. It's too hard finding all of them yourself. Much easier with the public's huge numbers of people.

Thanx for your help. All civilizations have now the Tarkans in the castle-slot 2! You can see that in the techtree!

The player colors are only red and blue! Have anybody a solution for this ?

You can built in one part of the bridge with GeniED2 Enhanced ! How can we make with GeniED1 the bridge built in the game ?

You were too excited and accidentally clicked the in-game friendly player color setting.

I am not sure what the word "bridge" meant in your sentence. If you meant to connect the two programs, I am afraid it would be pretty difficult to establish a connection between a Perl program and C++ program. If you meant to modify the bridge units in game, you could refer to civ*units.txt and find the related data, then input modified ones into patches.txt.

You can built all parts of the bridge with GeniED2 Enhanced! Bridge - the middle part
Built Unit 118
Built Slot 1

Now your villagers can built one or more parts of a bridge!
It's the same thing with the Seagate,Seawall and Seatower.

You must use a original 1.0c empires2_x1_p1.dat ! I can't
guarantee that is possible with genied1_beta ! I have not
enough place for the bridge and the original civil building!

The buildings you mentioned are already enabled by some technologies (meaning that ES people wanted to make them buildable), so changing their build button and build unit setting with GE2 can make them appear on the building list. You can also go to GE1 and alter the civ-unit setting to achieve the same effect:

civ_%%_unit_**_train_time
civ_%%_unit_**_train_unit
civ_%%_unit_**_train_button

Enabling Gold Shaft Mining for Teutons, Crossbowman for Spanish and Disabling Spearman for Mayans are all technology tree struction modification. As I said before:

techage_262_71_amount: -1

Meanwhile, since the 7th techage_data of techage slot 446 is disabling crossbowman, the lines you have to enter in patches.txt to make it available to Spanish should be:

techage_446_6_amount: -1

Finally, disabling Spearman for Mayans is a bit more complicated for you have to add data to the techage slot:

If amount=-1,a thing is enabled and if unit count is value greater than 1 ,a thing is disabled.Is this true?

Actually what amount means.

the techage counts are different of the three.what does it signify?

The last thing i want to know is, why can't we make new civilisations.
Do we have to edit the combo boxes which let us to select civilizations.
what would happen if we put same civilizaton pointer(of existing civilisation) to our new civilisation.

The combo box setting is probably located in the exe file, so it is illegal (and rather impossible) to alter it. We have tried duplicating a whole civilization within the database, but it cannot be selected in the game.

Oh, right. With what? It won't open on its own. Do I just use notepad or similar? EDIT- Obviously not, I just tried.

I suggest you download Bitzipper or winrar to extract this file.
RAR file is similar to zip file.

download and install zip genious. Its free and more effecient than win zip. It also does many more things.

After its installed, simply right click on the file and select "extract." Or maybe its "unzip." anyway, it works great even for tar.gz files.

Which graphic is displayed for every unit and building is controlled by its own graphic slot setting (that can be altered by both GE1/2).

We have 5 groups : Arabic , Asian ,West European,North European ,South American .

The South American Group have for some of my buildings better anchor than the West European. If I change only the graphic of the NE castle , have I some Problems with the flaggs , if I accommodate one Unit there.

Could I change the groups with GeniED1 ?
Could I add the technology tree ?

K, so I downloaded GeniEd again. I ignored the Trojan warnings from avast.

And now I get some sort of error message saying that "I don't have permission" to open the file...

Could someone send me it by mail? I seem to be having a lot of problems downloading it...
