Topic Subject: stranger than creating a relic, removing it
posted 02-14-03 06:43 PM CT (US)
the oddest thing happened to my friend the other day: he was using a looping trigger to make a relic's Hp rise by 500, and it just kept rising. At around 60000 or so, the relic just dissapears. I noticed this was close to the magic number that means zero(whatever it is), colud this be it?

and also, he tried to use "remove object" on a relic cart, and its HP goes down to 1/50

???

Could be good for a countdown of some sort?

Nope. A better countdown would be to have a timer as a condition, and removing the relic using remove object.

Interesting indeed.

Actually, this trick applied to any unit. When the HP of any unit goes over 32,768, that unit is killed. It is actually a known "trick" (if you can call it that). In the case of relics, the relic disappears.

... Because relics cannot be killed. You might want to try something like that with a Wonder, and see what happens.

Quoted from Angel Luke:

Because relics cannot be killed

exactly what makes this trick amazing

?

If the disappearing part is amazing, you can get that effect from ANY unit by removing it.

I remember the discussion a while back that Monuments lowered terrain. It would be nice if it was the same as Relics. IIRC, the Monument cannot be killed.

Monuments can also be placed on water.

What I meant by as a timer, set the condition to object killed/destoyed (I can't remember it), and then use that as the trigger timer.

@ tewmuwchin
Be nice.

@ Yugi
Interesting, but wouldn't it be easier to use a timer? I think they can both accomplish anything that has to do with countdowns.

does anyone know how to do temporary timers, say i want that when a unit steps onto a flag, it turns into an arbalast for 30 seconds?
