18:55 – LLI “just wants Himeko to be happy”. Liar liar pants on fire.

20:01 – ugh. LLI hides the stolen pin and attaches the clover-leaf to Himeko’s hair while she’s being tarted up for her date. Just despicable. But I’m beginning to feel that’s the point.

20:13 – Himeko is going to wear a dress on a motorbike. Yiiiikes. [-10]

20:22 – I JUST CAN’T LOOK, IT’S KILLING MEEEEEEEEE! AND TAY-KING CON-TROLLLL!

20:48 – what does LLI expect to achieve by running downstairs, muttering Himeko’s name under her breath?

21:06 – Meanwhile, in Purple Hell, (again):

21:14 – Adorable Nurse-chan is the greatest. [+5]



21:52 – An organ serenades LLI as she walks away from the archery range, and a castle suddenly appears out of nowhere. I couldn’t make this up if I tried.

21:56 – The doors open and a white light shines out. Is that you, God?

22:15 – And LLI walks into the Mysterious Castle as the ending theme begins. Which I do still enjoy.


Verdict: Mediocre pornography. Nothing of note happened in that episode. It ran a positive score for the majority of the episode, but the gratuitous bathing spoiled everything. At least the prescription painkillers mean that I don’t feel as though I wasted two hours of my life on this.

The worst of all NGE derivatives

Y'all dorks need to watch jojo. Do it for this guy.

What's it about? Isn't it that hypermasculine show?

Eh, yes and no. The characters are visually hyper masculine, though they behave in effinimate ways frequently. Fabulously masculine is the best bet. But the show wastes no time on admiring their muscles or anything. It does not conform to most anime norms. Only occasionally having normal people say WTF!? How his this guy so huge?

There are four parts so far, with many more to come to catch up with the manga. All four follow this family line of dudes. The first two deal with fighting massively over powered vampires with sun powers. Then in the second parts the premise changes entirely to people having psychic phantoms they can each summon with very specific powers (changing the game a little bit from "how could this for possibly be defeated?!" To really interesting battles from people thinking hard about how to use their abilities.

Each part is quite different, but they're all good (first part being my least favorite unfortunately). The fights are clever and ridiculous. It's kind of like an adult version of DBZ where the action is interesting and much more down to earth. Some fights aren't even violent. One of the better examples from the current part being a guy who can physically burden people who feel guilty towards him into repaying him using his power to con a family by self inflicting wounds and passing the blame to family members.

Most importantly it is fun and ridiculous.
