If the camera in your scenario is low enough to see across the horizon, you will notice that the sky in your scenario is pitch black:

You can change this by adding a colorful sky texture with a simple use of the trigger Render Sky. There are four types of sky textures available for the editor:

SkyBlue
SkySunset
SkyStormy
SkyWinter

To use one of these sky names, type it into the Sky Name box (as seen in the above image).

(Notes: make sure the letters are capitalized correctly, and the Render button is on.)

This is what each looks like:

SkyBlue

SkySunset

SkyStormy

SkyWinter

Once Ykkrosh makes the texture conversion work right, we're good to go .

EDIT: Sorry about the size.. I was too lazy to do anythign else besides resize it.

Shadows posted an article on pitching camera, but you can also use my Zoom Editor to get that kind of view(link is in sig).

Hey AzN, hurry up with that tutorial will ya?

anitald, to change the camera angle, you can go to the AoM directory, find a folder called Startup, and open it using Notepad or any text document. You can change the angle by typing in the desired value, which also supports negative numbers.

A much faster and more convenient way is to simply use
    Larmir's Zoom Editor.

Also read Shadow's post on how to "store and save" all your customized camera angles in your scenario:

Well, I still havent figured out the new skybox files. Apparently, the "stormyskybox" and others ending with Skybox are not the updated versions, and are not even used by the game. If they were, it woudl be so much easier, since they are in the shape of a cube.

Now, the new files start with Skybox. It has two right, two left, two front, and two back. So I suspect instead of the field being surrounded by a "box", it is surrounded by a Octagon... odd. I'll figure it out, hopefully.

But first and most important, is that Ykkrosh be able to convert between the files. If so, it will be very easy .

    andylo,

You could download Larmir's Zoom Editor to change a specific angle.

You should also download Shadow's camera-angle template, which allows you to change the angle while in the editor.

I would recommend reading this post by Shadow, as it will explain on how to easily create your own camera-angle template.

    Have fun designing =)

    ---------------------------------------

    The Quacker,

    I noticed that, too .

Can someone make an evan more elaborate Camera pitch template? Shadow's is good and all, but can someone try to capture some sideways angles (do that by panning around the edge of the map and pausing) because then you can use those to zoom out really far. Thats how i took This screenshot

I'd make one and stuff, but i dunno, it might be cheesy and people might yell at me for stealing shadow's idea

    andylo,

I hope this would help you with using the Zoom Editor.

HOW TO USE THE ZOOM EDITOR

Step 1: to change the camera angle using the Zoom Editor, double-click on the Zoom Editor to start the program.

You will then see something like this:

Step 2: where it says Pitch (Angle), you enter the number that you want. (For example, 90 degree is looking from the sky down; 10 degree is looking from ground level).

When you're ready, click on the Edit button.

Step 3: launch Age of Mythology. You will see the new angle:

    --------------------------------------

HOW TO USE THE CAMERA TEMPLATE

    step 1: Open the Editor
step 2: Load the template scenario
step 3: Now, go into the cinema editor, and find the 0-45degree track

step 4: Next, click to play the track. You will then see the angle shifts gradually from 45 degree downward to 0 degree. (See below)

step 5: Once the track has finished playing, you will now be able to drag the mini slider, so that the camera angle would be whatever you want between 45 and 0 degree. (See below)

So let’s say that you want an angle of about 20 degree, all you need to do is drag the mini slider to the midpoint between 45 and 0 .

    --------------------------------

    Cheezy,

How do tilt the camera like that? That's really neat!
