Twelve cats made their way into their master's room. However,
they were shocked to find their master dead, strangled to
death by the camera he had often used to make funny pictures
of them. No one else lived here: it had to have been one of
them. But priorities are priorities. Cat naps come first.

Awaking from their cat nap, the town was surprised to discover
that one of their own had been killed. Item Cat, who had
always been generous when it came to useful things, had been
slain in the night. They mourned his loss, and then set about
the business of discovering the killer.

Item Cat (Heir of Elessar), an ~~inventor~~ vanilla towny, has been killed.
It is Day 1.
There are 11 of you, so it is 6 to lynch.

So what confuses me is that inventor was crossed out? Did he have only one item?

I'm with Razor on this one. I don't think it's likely that Heir had only one thing to give away, and I don't think he would have (been able to) give everything away in one night. It suggests that he ceased to be an inventor at some point.

I've never heard of a role that takes away other people's roles, so I'm thinking cult probably. It would make sense that a possible cult and the mafia would both target Heir, seeing as how he's a good player.

I think it's more likely that it's a kind of vampire role, that can only be used once or something and allows you to take the role of one player.

If this is the case, then we sort of got lucky, especially if the vampire is a serial killer. I mean, he doesn't want to help anyone and can't give the items to himself, so he's effectively wasted his ability.

To clarify, when I cross out a role, it means that he no longer was that role and became whatever role I put next to it. When an inventor runs out of items, he is still an inventor, just one without any items.

I heavily doubt it. Due to the Town having more players than scum, it'd be unfair if the Town could sap their powers from them.

2 possibilities:

Because scum find it useful to have a player confuse the town and redirect attention to self.

Because he is scum and luckily wasn't targeted by some other possible SK or group of scum.
