From the writings of Cloudchaser_Eagle, scribe of the great city of Tours, 742 A.D.
In the Year of our Lord 732, the demoralized Frankish army under the leadership of Charles Martel, the King of France, held its final stand against the Moorish army under the Spanish Emir Abd er-Rahman. The Christian forces had emerged victorious on that fateful day, driving the Muslims back from whence they came. Yet there were a select few who were not yet ready to join the Spanish retreat. They remained in France, biding their time...
Now, ten years later, Charles Martel is no more, and the great kingdom of France is divided between his sons, neither of whom is able to become the leader that Martel, the Frankish Hammer, had been. And it is now that those select few Moorish warriors emerge once again, and they vow to make Tours pay for the defeat that it dealt to their great army.
Only now, these warriors are even more powerful. A pagan deity has bestowed upon them magical abilities that are quite simply extraordinary. The great city is afraid once again, but two bold voices have stood up in defiance of these magic-wielding adversaries. The destiny of Tours, and of France, now rests in the hands of these few but powerful wizards...

This is another Mafia game, but with a slight twist. Hiding amongst the populace of Tours are three Moorish warriors-turned-sorcerers plus one Warlock, who will use the terrible magic bestowed upon them by a pagan deity to exact the revenge that they feel France deserves. But there is still hope for Tours, and for France. Two Frankish wizards have emerged from the citizenry of Tours, and have pledged to fight and to die for the great city. With the help of these two powerful wizards, it is possible that the menace of the Moorish adversaries can be extinguished forever. But many characters reside in Tours secretly, like the Moorish Spy who is rumored to be at large within the city limits...

GAME RULES (most of 'em blatantly copied from previous Mafia threads, but oh well )

1) Inactivity is to be judged by myself and by myself only. If a player is deemed to be inactive, an email is sent and if not replied to within 24 hours, that person will be ejected from the game and a search for a replacement shall begin. If no replacement is found, then that person dies off.

2) Please keep posting to a minimum at night.

3) After Night 0 has been completed, I will create a Graveyard thread. The deceased should move their conversations of the game there and need to refrain from posting here (that means NO influencing the living).

4) Unless you are dead and are only talking with other dead people (or people not in the game to begin with), please do not discuss your roles in emails/IMs/other forums/whatever.

5) A majority of votes are required to lynch if the number of people left is odd. If that number is even, then 50% plus one more vote is required to lynch (like if there were 12 people left, 7 votes would be needed to lynch someone).

6) I will only set deadlines if game activity begins to drag but should I set a deadline, I will adhere to it completely and anything sent to me after the deadline will be thrown out (or lynching votes, if it is a daytime deadline).

7) All decisions and actions made by the game moderator are final.

8) If you feel the game moderator has made a mistake, please re-read rule #7.
