By now the news of Yeebaagooons resignation is public knowledge.
Yeebaagooons has been a great help with the MotM over the last few years, Keeping the work load balanced, and often bring to my attention people I might just have looked over.
So it's obvious I'm going to need a new partner in crime... or more likely, Journalism.
And so "The MotM Writing Competition!" is born.
Are you a member who's been here more then 6 months? Do you think you can write words? Do you think you can interview people, and discover the intricate details of their lives and what makes them tick? Then writing for the MotM could be a job for you!
How to enter:
e-mail me 1 finished MotM interview.
Rules and small print:
01 - you may not interview yourself.
02 - you may not interview the same person who is interviewing you.
03 - Multiple people can interview the same person. As long as this does not break rule 01/02.
04 - The interview must be "ready to post" that means spell checks should have been performed, and all BB code is ready. I want to paste your interview into a thread preview and see results.
05 - Don't reinvent the wheel. MotM has a format. Ask about 10 questions. Use regular questions like "What is your average day like?" and "Is there anything else you want to say to the community?" Include 3-5 pictures, atleast 1 of which should be of the subject. Use bold and italics as they are used in previous interviews.
06 - The person you interview needs to send me an e-mail saying they agreed to the interview. No surprise interviews people didn't expect.
07 - This is a test of all the skills needed to produce a MotM interview. Don't interview people who have already won, unless you really can't find anyone else.
08 - If you intend to enter post in the thread.
Judging Criteria:
Formating/spelling/grammar: 20% - Don't be sloppy.
Quality of Interview: 30% - An Interesting Read goes a long way. The ability to ask questions that lead to interesting stories.
Quality of Subject: 30% - The ability to find a suitable subject. Interviewing a smurf you just made is going to suck. Interviewing a well known member will do wonders. Also covers the ability to pick members who haven't won previously.
Other: 20% - everyone starts with 20%. score will be reduced if other pressing concerns about your work appear. E.G. Swearing, Insulting the Subject, joke entry in it for the trolls.
(The ability to contact members outside of the forum is key. Being able to find my e-mail is part of the test, so don't ask for it.)
Entry deadline: 27th of September.
A winner will be announced on the 30th of September.
Please only enter if you intend to take up the position.
