Right, new game- keep a look out on pre ordering and retail prices, and if you see something that is "cheap", then you stick the link down here for everyone's convenience.

Winning so far- Zavvi, £25.98- I ordered S2 off them and got the pre order bonus through fine, so I'm giving it an EoJ stamp of approval.

This sounds suspicious, and with your rep after that April Fool's Modability prank of yours... I am awfully wary of anything that has the letters E , o, and J connected to it.

Still, this is an attempt at amends.

And a damned fine deal.

Can anyone out there beat this one?

The price on Steam is absolutely ridiculous - £44.99!

30GB? I'm not sure whether steam's price or that suprises me more.

Worth noting zavvi has gone up to 30 quid again. I shall look some more for cheap deals later.

I just looked at the Requirements. £45 is a bit much in my opinion and 30GB would take at least 10 hours to download with my connection.

30gb is a huge amount to download, and would take longer than overnight for me.

Buying a physical copy not only saves you money but also spares you most of that huge download, too.

Oh I agree; I will purchase a physical copy if I am able.

Physical copy all the way! 30 GIG is MASSIVE. I got upset at 9 gigs worth of updates for Shogun 2. My internet is terrible. At home i am on 8 gigs a month, but i can take it to my dads work as he has like 200Gig a month and it is very fast, at least for my standard.

About time it was reduced, silly price considering how much it will cost you elsewhere. Good spot Warlord.

I've got unlimited download, but my actual speed is low/average, so I have no actual problems beyond it being a long download.

That being said, I preordered it from Amazon for £30, but I've paid another £3 for it to be delivered on the day it comes out so I don't miss in the collective christmas-come-early excitement on this forum

Total war has the commendable goal to keep minimum specs about the same throughout their great series.

Luckily for me:
- Rtw plays fine
- Medieval have to turn some setting to low, but in general works fine, bit long loading times.
- Shogun 2, had to turn everything down, but I can play it. Biggest issue very long load times.

Due to the popularity of xp, it is strange it would not work. Perhaps it will still work, maybe they just mean it requires windows (mac version follow later I think) and they dont want to list all windows versions

Here's where I pre-ordered from:

http://www.flipkart.com/total-war-rome-ii/p/itmdm7f4jnncgjh4?pid=AVMDKYSCYJTZET2F

So, it's there for 25$, but when I ordered it, it was for 16$. Too bad it doesn't ship overseas.

Might pre-order mine at a local store, don't want to risk a delivery delay, especially cause I will book off release day to play it. I remember when Empire came out and Gaius had to wait an extra two days to receive his copy from Play.com

For Australians, though Green Man Gaming can apply to everyone with the right deal/coupons, I recommend seeing what prices OzGameShop or GMG have going at the time. I managed to acquire both my Rome II pre-order and Civ V: Brave New World pre-order for 50 AUD (grand total) a couple of months earlier at GMG.

I'm interested in knowing if any Americans have purchased a game from ozgameshop; they have a great price at $43 right now, and I'm very tempted. It is the hard copy (DVD rom, which is what I want), however shipping from Aussieland has me concerned a bit...

Technically they ship from Ireland or UK, if I remember correctly. How else do you think we get such insane discounts on games compared to what they retail for in Australia locally .
