Hello, i've bought the original game Rome:Total War, and installed it in my destination file. Everything looks good, even though sometimes my screen freezes a bit. I start the prologue, and this goes fine, but when in the prologue, i have to start to defend Rome from the Barbarian Horde, the game crashes back to my desktop! This means i've haven't had even 1 battle yet!

This is my system:

Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Intel Pentium III processor,~700 MHZ
512 MB RAM Memory
933 MB unused swapfiles
Direct X 9.0c
62,3 GB free hard disk
Video card: NVIDIA RIVA TNT2/TNT 2 PRO
Sound: CT4810

From the look of it, several things. First, the video card cannot handle the graphics calls by RTW. Second, the video card RAM is not enough to even load the base textures properly. Third, the CPU is way below minimum specs.

Multiplayer Requirements:
·Internet (TCP/IP) and LAN (TCP/IP) play supported.
·Internet play requires broadband connection and latest drivers.
·LAN play requires network interface card and latest drivers.

The TNT2 is not even a GeForce 1, much less GeForce 3. BTW, I have tested RTW on TNT2, and can confirm it behaves as expected... CTD. Sometimes in campaign mode, always in battle mode.

The game also plays better (e.g., more stable) if you have Windows XP, SP2 + updates, for technical reasons.
