The Scenario Design Help Thread

Greetings, fellow Scenario Designers. I'm just letting you know that the Help Thread has been emptied so that you won't have to shuffle through 25 pages of questions and answers before you ask your questions. Instead, take a look at the Scenario Design Page that Angel AoErat has provided and already posted for us in his other thread, and take a look at everything there is to know about Scenario Design before asking any questions.

@dartheric: I had the same problem, here are the two best ways to correct that,

Eiher delete and replace the object, or delete the object and redo the trigger, and make sure when you select the object that you are renaming, double click on it, and make sure the trigger turns green, if it's red, redo it again until it works, that's how I do it,

I want to make a scroll screen like the ones at the beginning of the movies for my scenario. Any suggestions?

I'm trying to create a Revenge of the Sith campaign, but one of my levels has a bug that I can't seem to get rid of (saving chacellor Palpatine). I put a droid conrol program (unit) in the scenario, which requires R2-D2 to be close to it to unlock the ship's gates. But if I move a jedi towards it, they turn it into a holocron, and it can't be changed back! Is there a way to prevent this?

I hate it when things like that happen.

Try using someting other than a Droid Control Program.

What is the name of the female twi-lek jedi in Episode III. The one on felucia. I needed to ask because I wanted a mod to get her but I could not find one because I did not know her name. I do not know if there is a mod but it would be useful.

Also, I was wandering where I could get an immobile A.I. I think that it is called Immobile A.I, Gold. I was asking because in the downloads section there are loads of AI downloads witch say they make the computer players immobile but when I tried one it just made all of the units wander around everywhere. Not good in a short cinematic.

Around the blacksmith of this site, can i find there a guide which is specific to RPG things?

Like:
- free battles
- puzzles
- potions as items you carry with you
- different spells the player can cast

All such things, is there a guide for to learn some more of them?

Wizardboy: I'm not sure. I think that the best you might be able to get are templates in the downloads section.

Bryl: By blacksmith he meens the downloads section. It's called the blacksmith in AoK Heaven.
He's asking if there are any guide to the things that people put in RPG levels (e.g. Health packs)

Oh right, sorry bryl. I understand the potions thing, (I think) but I never really thought about that free battles thing. I saw an example of the potionsd thing in a RPG I once got for AoK. You went to a place and it said that you had got a potion. It also put the name of the potion in the instructions and a taunt that you typed to get it to work.

Anyway, it sounds like one of those A.I. things. I'm new but isn't Bendak meant to be very good at them. (Or is it someone else?)

Taunt AI is a very basic thing to learn. Actually, AI is very easy to write if you know how and where to put it.

I'll cover this in my Moaner to Master guide, the scenario design version of BP's MtM for mods.

I want it so you can heal everytime you have a certain amount of nova and use a certain taunt. Here are my triggers:

TRIGGER LOOPING
CONDITION: AI Signal: Ai Signal 3
CONDITION: Accumulate Attribute 5 Nova
EFFECT: Damage Object -50

Whenever I do Taunt 3 it will keep on healing and healing and healing. It won't make it so I do Taunt 3 once and it does it once. I need someone's help ASAP!

You have to tribute that 5 Nova back, or else it'll keep detecting it. BTW, why are you using AI signals? It's not necessary for this.

BTW, the way you have this set up would make it act like this:

Character starts with 50/50 health (I'm assuming since you have -50.

That means if they have 30/50 health when they get 5 Nova, and they use the taunt, it'll undamage the object that -50, making their health 80/50.

Your trigger needs to be set up like this

CONDITION: Accumulate Attribute 5 Nova
EFFECT: Damage Object 50
EFFECT: Damage Object -50

That way, it damages it down to zero and back up to fifty without going over and with out dying.

Thanks, I never thought about that. Well, I still don't understand how you'd make it so every one time you use a certain taunt it heals once, not keep on healing fifty, fifty, fifty, fifty...

Like I said earlier, I need this help ASAP.

The player constantly has 5 Nova.

The trigger is looped to detect 5 Nova.

As long as that 5 Nova is there, it will continue healing it.

An effect has to tribute that away.

This way is easier, because he wants it to become available when the player gets 5 Nova. If he ditched the looping trigger, it would require him an extra trigger, and two extra effects. I'd explain more, but I'm too lazy.

Immobile RPG Meg IV - Has the immobileness you are looking for

Echoes - Yeah, it too has Immobile AI in it. And taunts.

Pick either one. Immobile A.I. Gold is a thing of the past. I always use one of these two.
