well, we know we have a mason. question is was it a pair or a triplet, or is there a recruiting mason, etc?

Triple could confirm 1/3 of the player base and presumably 30% of the town, give or take a bit. I'd bet double.

I don't think thats super important right now. The important bit is there was only 1 single night kill right now. So we need to account for all blocks last night ASAP.

And now that I look at my reply from last night theres a chance I wasnt blocked but had an issue with my action. So, Yes, we need to account for all roleblockers.

I'm used to having the mason claim if a mason dies just so there's a confirmed townie on our plate, but I guess in a game this small it's advantageous to keep them a secret.

I want to know how you know you were blocked. That means you either have an investigative action of some kind or you were told that your action didn't go through in a flavor-like way. I know Rot doesn't do the latter so I'm wondering why you were so willing to come out Day 1 that you were blocked. Your behavior is kind of strange.

I refuse to claim until all roleblockers are accounted for.

I'm suspicious of your desire to isolate his role so much, especially since you specifically brought up your desire to know about a possible investigative role.

I will give you my name thou, I am Issac. That should be more than enough to my proof I am a confirmed townie.

I don't want Dante to claim but I want him to explain his nonsensical behavior so far. It's his fault he so needlessly brought attention to himself.

I'm not saying I want YOU to claim either, but don't you think you've called a bit of attention to yourself as well? You are trying to isolate his role and possibly eliminate it.

Rot, do failed kills show up in the day post?

We have two choices at this point, Mass name claim (Heavily for this since this is a flavor based game) or I still need to account for our roleblockers last night.

I always show failed kills, unless a condition dictates otherwise.

Then doctors and roleblockers don't need to claim. If there was only 1 kill, it means that there's only one scum killer, or every scum killer targeted Lordy.

They sat about discussing this and that, but out of the corner
of the eye, he saw something. Movement. He turned to look.
There! In the vents. The sound of a plasma cutter cut through

Burst: Burst applies to an active ability. A burst ability cannot be used the cycle after it was used.

Commuter: Each night, a commuter may choose to commute, causing any active abilities targeted at the commuter to fail. However, a commuter cannot use any other active abilities while commuting.

First, I think Dante is pretty much confirmed right now due to failed kills not showing up + his claim. Second, Mason shouldn't claim unless under pressure. Finally, we now know that there's a cult, and some sort of daykiller. The question now is whether the kill was originally intended for Thymole or him he intercepted it and protected someone else.

Everyone should just claim their name like I've asked.

I just realized a possible problem we have.

This is a problem. Our mason might have a lover condition not yet revealed. Not saying he should show up right now, because he shouldn't. Just saying the kill count might be funky tomorrow because of that condition.

I dont think we need to go numerically with the name claim. Perhaps the lack of current name claiming indicates more than the names themselves.

If I were to guess, I would say every convert member of the cult essentially becomes a one-shot converter. It's a mechanic I came up with and even discussed with Rot some time ago (we're talking years ago). I never did host a game that used it, though.

That being said, I don't think name-claiming is going to help us that much. I'm not against it, but if that is, in fact, the mechanic we're dealing with, what peoples' names are isn't going to matter much at all if people are going to be converted with little ability for us to track even it.

If you're not against it, what's the harm with going ahead and claiming your name?

The reason I say that's the potential mechanic is it fits with the theme and the "burst" role made me think of it. If anyone doesn't understand, basically the game starts with a single cult member with a one-shot cult ability. Every member he converts gains his own one-shot conversion ability, and so on. That's the basic idea behind it. I haven't played Dead Space very much but from what I gather that mechanic would fit very well with the theme.

I think Rot's actually done something somewhat similar before, the Headcrab role in Half-Life 2 mafia. Not quite the same.

In any case, the bottom line is I don't think name-claiming will help us much if we're dealing with a cult and Dante's behavior continues to alarm me. It makes no sense from a town perspective so far.

If you're not against it, what's the harm with going ahead and claiming your name?

Because I'm not next in line.

While everyone continues to think I'm scummy with no reasoning to back it up, I'm going to try to break down what we're up against.

1) Guardian was crossed out. This means that is no longer the player's active ability.
2) We're dealing with a cult.
3) Burst commuter?

Burst: Burst applies to an active ability. A burst ability cannot be used the cycle after it was used.
Commuter: Each night, a commuter may choose to commute, causing any active abilities targeted at the commuter to fail. However, a commuter cannot use any other active abilities while commuting.

This means that burst is essentially an Alternating action. It can only be used every other day or night. Where it differs from Alternating is it gives the player the choice when they can use the action. For example, Alternating would strictly pertain to night or day. But with Burst, the player can choose whether or not they use their action in the day or night, as long as it's not used the following night or day, respectively.

What action does a Twitcher have? Commuting. This means that if they're targeted, all actions on them fail.

Now, it's not set in stone, but what may have happened Dante is that you targeted a twitcher that commuted in the night, which is why your action failed. You could've been roleblocked, but perhaps not. You don't have to reveal your role, but who did you target? I think they would be a good player to pressure.
