This is a utility that allows you to open .bar files used by AoM and extract its content.
To install, extract anywhere. I suggest the AoM directory.
VB6 runtimes are required. XP Users don't bother with the runtimes, you have them already.
Well, it does what it says. it extracts the contents of a .bar file. Now, how about something to convert the files inside or at least say what program to edit them with.

It's really interesting to see what's in those .bar files. You can extract these files to a folder and view them. But you can't convert the files back to the .bar format unfortunately. Nevertheless, the author manages to find a way to extract the bar files and that's quite credible.
Additional Comments:
It takes quite some time to load the Bar Explorer. Does the author want us to notice the website on the splash screen?

There is a bit of room for improvement, but I'm not complaining. Now if only I could put it back into the bar...

Additional Comments:
A very useful tool, especially when collecting data. Nice interface, easy to use, and provides the user with an excellent way of converting BAR files.
Bandit_Raider,
Use another program, such as AoMED, to convert the files, after you convert them with BAR Explorer.

This program has a bug. It does not open all the files in the sounds2.bar file and generates an error message before completion.
