We have created a new e-mail address to collect your bugs. If you encounter anything please send an e-mail to age3.bugs@ensemblestudios.com If you are using a hotmail e-mail address it may bounce your e-mail.

Be sure to include as much information as possible about your system, any logs you received as well as error messages. If you provide reproduction steps that would also be helpful.

<------->

Common fixes for most problems

1.Make sure your system supports the minimum requirements.

2.Make sure that your video card and sound drivers are updated.

3.When you install be sure to turn off any antivirus software.

4.Make sure the game is not blocked by any security software.

<------->

If you are having problems starting the demo try these four fixes.

1. Open your My Documents\My Games\Age of Empires 3\Startup folder

2. Create a user.cfg file

3. Add the line +nointrocinematics save and exit

4. Play the game

--- or ---

1. Turn off anti-aliasing

--- or ---

If you have a wide screen monitor

1. Open NewProfile.xml

2. Find the line optiongrfxres

3. Change the resolution to 1024 x 768

--- or ---

1. Download the latest version of Microsoft XML (MSXML 4 SP2)

2. You can download it here

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=3144b72b-b4f2-46da-b4b6-c5d7485f2b42&DisplayLang=en

<------->

If you are experiencing sound problems be sure to include the Age3log.txt and the DXDiag output.

To get DXDiag output

1. Go to Start

2. Click on run and type DXDiag and hit enter

3. Click on the sound tab

4. Copy the informatiuon from there and include it in a e-mail

<------->

We are tracking the sound issue right now. Thanks to everyone who sent in their information.

A possible fix for the sound issue is to turn off hardware acceleration. This may only work on some hardware.

1. Go to Start and Run

2. Type in DXDiag and hit enter

3. Go to the sound tab and move the hardware sound accerlation bar all the way to the left

4. Click Exit and restart the computer

We should take bets on how many hours it will take before that mailbox fills. Most of the stuff I've noticed has been related to objects certain projectiles not displaying, I'm assuming they haven't been added in

Question: Every time I sent an explorer to kill guardian wolves, they never attack my explorer.. bug or feature?

Someone said that they are 800 bugs in this demo that have been already resolved in the final version.

Can you confirm that ?

If u get an error message saying "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and need's to close" The way to bypass it is to just ignore it, move it to a corner of your screen, it means nothing.

The RoL forum colors make me sooo hungry.

Most important bug: That e-mail gave a 'delivery failed' reply. ;o

Got a returned email as well. FWIW, here is what I tried to send:

Whenever I play Skirmish mode and at around 9-12 minute of "game time" (med speed), the music keeps playing (different tunes and sounds fine) but the sounds from the action taking place in the game stops playing. For example, at around this time frame, if I were click on a villager, there is no acknowledgement sound heard (e.g. chopper). I don't hear the sounds of the muskets, other war cries, the sound of wood sawing or being chopped. I only hear the background music and I believe some nature sounds. Unfortunately, I do not get any errors.

I have upgraded my video drivers (details below). I verified that my Dell 4600 sound card (Sound Blaster Live!) was up to date. According to the Creative Site which I installed their ActiveX control to verify if I had the latest drivers and they indicated I had. I have done Windows Update and confirmed that I have the latest relevant software there (I don't have an Outlook Express update...). I have also shut down my anti-virus/spyware software.

Let me know if I can provide any other info.

Thanks,
Bob

This is the only log I see in the /My Documents/My Games dir.

I have one ide 250 gb hard drive in two partions, both have 12 - 15 gbs free. I tryed closing all anti-virus software and I'm not sure what to do next.

Yes, I got this as well. Also, the pirates seemed to move incredibly fast, and sometimes regenerated hitpoints faster than musketeers could take them away. It took a rather large force to eventually bring the pirates down. They didn't attack me, either, which I found strange. They just sort of slid away extremely quickly (faster than hussars) without retaliating.

Treasure guardians don't attack, as has been said, and they can heal entirely instantly for some reason. The pirate is probably just unfinished animation. My biggest complaint is that the Iroquois Tomahawk unit doesn't appear.

I meant they didn't attack after being attacked. That happened with some of the other treasure guardians. They didn't fight well, but they did do something. These pirates just slid away (I literally chased them across the map).

Yeah, the pirate animations didn't work. Also, please, ES, make the treasure guardians (bears, wolves) defend themselves at least a little bit.

I'm able to install the demo fine. My system specs are above and beyond what is required. Yet when I go to run the game, I get a small window in the middle of the screen with a red cross icon in it, nothing else, no title to the window, no text on the dialog, just an ok button which just closes the window. I know that someone else has reported this problem also in the tech forum but no one has responded yet on how to fix it.

You guys got any ideas?

I got this too. They don't regenerate the HP. When the units guarding the treasures get moved away from the treasure (no matter how far it is) and their AI tells them to turn back it's right then that their HP just gets reset to it's max. I haven't tried walling those units in and shooting it, though. That might work, but it wouldn't be worth the resources and the walking/build time in exchange for the little return you got from the treasure.

Bugs I experienced:
The treasure gaurdians didn't attack, they just stood there or ran away. The pirates were messed up. I couldn't capture the enemy explorer, he would just lie down and regenerate. My shipments of ships didn't appear.
